One of the hostages, recently released from Gaza, revealed on Wednesday that he was held for nearly 50 days in an attic by a UNRWA teacher.

The story was publicized on X by Channel 13 journalist Almog Boker.

The hostage also stated that the teacher who held him captive was a father of 10 children. Additionally, the hostage had barely been provided food or medical attention, and was locked away by the teacher.

Furthermore, Boker's report also cites another hostage saying that he was held hostage by a Gazan doctor as he was treating children patients

A report from the beginning of the month saw a UNRWA-run school in Nablus in the West Bank posting a video to its official Facebook page in which a young student called for the victory of Hamas’s “Jihad warriors” in Gaza.

The report also documented several examples of teachers at UNRWA schools in Gaza praising the attacks on social media, and found ties between Hamas terrorists and UNRWA schools.

The report also found that more than 100 Hamas terrorists were confirmed to have graduated from UNRWA schools.

That's significant. It's something we've said here since the school curriculum was published. Now there are enough examples that more people have to pay attention.

If true that the hostage has information that he could only know from being in the teachers' house, or the doctor's house, then it's a big problem with UN organization.

It's just gone 03:00 in Israel and Gaza, and 01:00 here in London. We are still waiting to hear tonight whether the fragile six-day truce in this devastating war between Israel and Hamas, called to allow for the release of hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, will be extended.

More hostages return to Israel

• Two Israeli-Russian hostages were handed back to Israel on Wednesday
• Later, 10 other Israeli hostages were returned in an arrangement facilitated by humanitarian organisation the International Committee of the Red Cross. Four Thais were also freed
• Israel says it released 30 Palestinian prisoners in return. Qatar said earlier that this group would comprise 16 minors and 14 women - but we do not yet know who they are

Two children killed in the West Bank

• Two Palestinian boys - Adam al-Ghoul (8) and Basel Abulwafa (14) - were killed in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank
• The Palestinian Authority says the pair were killed by Israeli troops. Israel says its forces shot at suspects throwing explosive devices, and killed two "senior terror operatives". It hasn't specifically commented on the deaths of the boys

Fate of infant hostage in question

• Hamas says the youngest hostage it was holding - a 10-month-old - was killed during an Israeli bombardment in Gaza alongside his elder brother and his mother
• Israel says it is working to verify the claim. On Tuesday, it said Hamas had passed the two young children on to "another Islamist faction"

There was live footage of the first journalists killed on the Lebanon border (was it an Al Jazeera journalist ???). They were in Lebanon with a film crew, hiding behind a concrete wall. Someone from Lebanon was live-streaming Israeli positions during active gunfire on the Israeli Lebanese border.

Was the tripod a camera or a rocket launcher? Either way, they were hit.

My first question is ... what were they doing in the middle of an active war zone, between Lebanese and Israeli soldiers? War is not entertainment. Journalists cannot expect Israeli soldiers to ignore them when every move they make is broadcasting Israeli manoeuvres.

The extended truce between Israel and Hamas is due to end at 7am Thursday local time (5am GMT) and there is little sign so far of an agreement between the two sides on a second extension. It is currently 3.30am.

Haaretz is reporting that no understanding has yet been reached regarding a list of captives to be released in a next round, with Israel apparently insisting that it include women and children.

Agence France-Presse has quoted a Hamas source as saying that talks were focused on extending the pause by “two days or more” but that “what is being proposed in the discussions to extend the truce is not the best.”

Israel’s war cabinet was meeting late on Wednesday over terms to extend the truce.

Doctors were forced to leave the babies behind in the hospital after they were reportedly given 30 minutes to evacuate the hospital by Israeli forces and leave patients.

Oh no! Not dead babies. Were they beheaded, yanked from the womb, or shot in their cribs?

Or were they taken out of their incubators, lined up on hospital beds and photographed because Hamas wanted fuel delivered to Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City?

Mobile incubators were taken out of Israeli hospitals and made available to Al Shifa Hospital to safely transfer premature infants to South Gaza. Fuel was provided to keep the babies safe and warm in their incubators. Doctors refused to accept the fuel because it was not enough. It was enough for the babies, but not for the entire hospital and underground tunnels.

Another hostage(s) I was surprised to see emerge alive today, her brother, Itay. I wasn’t sure if they would keep the young men alive.

I guess it can be said none of us were sure about any of them, of course.

That would be horrible if it were true. This was discussed live in this thread while it was happening.

First, they were asked to evacuate for WEEKS.

Second, the 30 minute warning was to let those inside the hospital know the IDF was about to enter.

International organizations have warned of crises at multiple medical facilities, including Shifa Hospital, which is the largest in Gaza City.

Doctors at the hospital told CNN that they were given 30 minutes of warning before the operation.

"We were asked to stay clear of the windows and the balconies," Dr. Khaled Abu Samra told CNN.

There's also the son of Rachel (last name escapes me now, as well as that of her son) whose hand and forearm was shot off before he was taken away.
Rachel was the woman who made that incredibly moving speech some days ago. It's worthwhile listening to again though I can't find it now. Unbelievably strong and articulate woman.

I so hope her son received medical attention and is freed sooner than later. I worry about him too, as I do about the other hostages.
