UK - Prince Andrew accused of underage sexual relationship, 1999-2002 *settled* #2

So somebody should put on overalls, grab a paint brush and start painting haha

Not nice to see a beautiful historic mansion crumbling.
Not good image :D

Photographers could only get outside distance shots so there is work that needs to be done elsewhere I imagine.

You know, when a person is on a lease, even a free lease, they are only tennants and do not own the property. This property belongs to the Crown Estate and the Crown Estate leases it to Andrew and before that the Queen Mother.

My point is that it is the responsibility of the Crown Estate to do repairs, remodeling, upkeep, grounds work....etc....

Alleged deal is not a lease contract....I cry foul!

Not to you of course....I appreciate your posting.

I think it might be rendering of some kind flaking off not just paint. It might just need redoing which I think might mean brushing off any loose material and patching, hopefully not chipping it all of and redoing all of it? But there's the possibility it is the symptoms of a bigger problem like subsidence or rising damp which would need more extensive work. I think, im not an expert.

He could do painting and rendering patching himself, but removing all the old rendering and redoing it all or dealing with subsidence or rising damp would require a skilled and physically robust tradesman. He like everyone could learn that eventually though of course but he would still need an assistant with the labour like any tradesman would.

Ahahahahaha Andrew actually patching and painting....first of all, he would no doubt do a terrible job. Second, has he even done anything for himself?

Continuing... ;)

"Prince Andrew

must repaint Windsor Royal Lodge with two coats of paint every five years -

as Charles

'threatens to sever ties'

if Duke refuses to move out.

The royal's 73-year lease with the Crown Estate,
which he signed in 2003,

says that he has a responsibility to

'repair, renew, uphold, clean and keep in repair and where necessary rebuild' the home.

This includes repainting its external walls every five years with
'two coats of paint'
from 2008 and redecorating inside every seven years from 2010.

This means that the exterior decorating was due to have been completed last year,

while the interior work is set to be done this year."

I think redecorating inside every seven years is unnecessary, but definitely painting outside should be done, he's got the money

This place is HUGE.
Like 3 connected buildings.
Wow!

Redecorating inside every 7 years is a good idea -
you know,
refreshing, renovating, bringing fresh ideas, transforming, etc.

But,
Phew!
It will cost - and cost a lot!
Who else lives there?
Maybe they can all share the expenses :D

Andrew is doing the place up!

Andrew lives there with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.

There was a magazine shoot of the interior, it was lovely and exquisitely decorated.

That was a couple of years back, so no link.

It needs an army of staff to take care of this place.

"Inside Royal Lodge:

the royal home that has caused controversy.

What is the history of the property that so many royals want to live at? "

"Royal Lodge

is a Grade II listed house in Windsor Great Park in Berkshire, England,
half a mile north of Cumberland Lodge and
3.2 miles (5.1 km) south of Windsor Castle.

The site of homes since the 17th century,
the present structure dates from the 19th century,
and was expanded in the 1930s for the then duke of York,
the future king George VI.

Its central section is 3 storeys,
with wings two storeys and it has about 30 rooms,
with 7 bedrooms.

The Royal Chapel of All Saints was built on the grounds in the 1820s."
