Okay, it seems that it was reported that on October 22nd a young woman was raped in a parking garage about 100 yards from a campus police station. The attack may or may not be linked to the three attacks known to have been carried out by Brianna's killer. And, this was not in the parking garage of a police station, but 100 yards from a campus police station. Inadvertently, words change just a couple at a time--just like the telephone game. This is one reason that I wanted to read about it directly.

I'm trying to catch up with all the responses today and haven't read all the posts yet, but wanted to throw this question out.

Does anyone know if there's been any murders in Reno in the past couple of years that went unsolved?

What I'm wondering is if there were any unsolved murders in the past couple of years, in which the victim was a woman and raped? I'm wondering if the owner of the underwear is deceased and the suspect is calling attention to another murder victim???

Police said DNA indicates the suspect then tried to break into the December victim’s apartment on Jan. 19, the night before Denison was kidnapped.

“So it seems that Mr. Almighty himself is going to show back up and teach her a lesson,” Kelly said.

Kelly said the suspect likely went into a rage because she disobeyed his order not to report the rape to police. He said the suspect showing up at her house was “insane” because he knew people would be looking for him there.

“So he leaves that apartment, carrying this rage inside because he couldn’t take it out on her, and then goes by and sees Brianna sleeping on a couch,” he said.

also, the profiler feels the perp may be a short person....

Experts said profiling is a process of taking educated guesses based on certain behaviors and are an investigative tool rather than an exact portrait of the suspect.

Kelly said the killer is a narcissistic, egomaniac with a God complex whose sexual stimulation and power have increased now that he has taken a life. He is likely shorter than average and enjoying the significant media attention and feels he has struck fear in the entire community.

“Not only did he have power sexually over someone, but now over life and death,” Kelly said. “Once he’s crossed that line, it’s hard to go back. Now he has upped the ante.

Don't forget about the other case in AZ where the perp went into the apartment to get the woman and abducted her to rape her knowing people were also in the home. I can't recall who posted it, but I know I took all kinds of flack for suggesting they go ahead and give it as a tip to LE.

I mentioned that long ago myself. I do think the perp was in his predator mode and angry (he tried to "hit" the doorknob off to break in) when he went back to find 2nd victim gone and then saw Brianna through the open glass doors and windows. It was only his luck the doors were unlocked. Here is the thing tho...there was a bit of time between him going to the 2nd victim's house to try to break in and then getting Bri. Where was he during that time? Had his rage gotten worse? Was he out trolling? It would seem that he would have calmed down a bit during that time. Is this why he was able to get Bri out so easily with no one hearing him? He had calmed down enough to carry it off...until he had her in his control...then the rage took over?

Serial rapists/killers come from all walks of life. The man who attacked me in 1983 was an engineer for a huge company that made the high tech (for that time) parts for aviation jets. He was attractive, well spoken, and well educated. During the time throughout his attacks of 8 known young women he got engaged, got married, and he and his wife had a baby. He lived in a nice home in a nice neighborhood. No way on earth would anyone have pegged him for a serial rapist.

This is exactly the type of guy I'm talking about. That's why I don't feel anyone he knows will turn him in. He is so normal that people around him will not see or recognize any red flags. He knows this too.

I didn't find any unsolved murders of women, but I found three missing women cases that physically fit the profile of the vics so far in this case. Long dark hair. They all resemble each other. There is a thread, IIRC, "other possible cases".

I totally agree too. This kind of person can lead a 'normal' life and no one has the slightest idea what he's doing.

In blue is why I think he went back and left the panties there after he dumped Brianna in the field. He's getting off on the press coverage he never had before and now knows that despite having his DNA, LE has no clue as to who he is. He thinks this is hysterical and went back and placed the panties there.

One would have to assume that LE has gotten all the surveillance tapes from the surrounding areas, but some of those would only have tape lasting a short time before they are taped over so it would depend on how soon they got to them.

I had considered the person being in security, but not in LE. A security guard would work nights and have time to leave the post depending on the type of job. Some travel from building to building to check them.

If you work out at that gym, take the time to really check out the men there. (I don't mean for the shaved area. LOL) Still...it was reported he wore a bright blue with red trimmed jersey type top and a black raider's shirt. Don't go by the sketch, but by the description given by the second victim. Brown or dirty blonde hair, a 1/2 inch or inch of soft hair from chin, 28-40yo, fit body but has a slight bulge in the belly when sitting down, and no noticable accent. Probably doesn't smoke. Keep your eyes peeled especially the guys doing crunches (he may be working on his pudge there.)!

Luckily the majority of people at my gym know each other and we are on the lookout for anyone missing their workouts or acting strangely. I have been on the lookout at the gym and while running my route around the area, and at school. I'm a female so I don't get too ambitious, but I definitely have reported several males that have led to calls back from RPD detectives--Including 1 man who was escorted off of the property at a coffee shop two blocks from UNR (for harassing women, including myself) about 4 days before Bri disappeared. He was a semi-truck driver and I later found out he fit the perfect description of the perp. Sadly, RPD never got an ID from that person, although they do have statements from several women who interacted with him including myself.

From the latest profiling article, I do wonder if he is an athlete and is on steroids-- the "rage" that the profiler talks about is common among steroid users, esp. testosterone. I strongly suspect that he has martial arts training, which is at my gym also. Scary

Secret Witness is offering a reward in the amount of $2,500.00 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect(s) wanted in connection with the homicide of BRANDY GALLEGO found in a parking lot in the 200 block of Pine St. Reno, NV. On November 7, 2007, at approximately 9:30 a.m. Officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle in the above area. Officers found GALLEGO, a 29-year-old female deceased in a vehicle. The investigation disclosed that GALLEGO died as a result of unnatural causes. Photographs of Ms. GALLEGO and the vehicle in which she was found are available through the Reno Police Department. Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s). I'm thinking more along the lines of someone who works outdoors (construction, landscaping, etc), who'd get very tanned arms during the summer. That he approaches his victims from behind and grabs them as he does seems to me that is a control issue on his part.

A great point indeed! This was my initial impression as well. Then I just started thinking and I feel that predicated upon his known crimes it would not be surprising to me if he were in the health care industry (nursing, or lab-tech) a school teacher, clergy or caretaker of sorts.

Gang: I do have some issues I must deal with before this thing just gets out of control. It is of nobody's fault here at all. Again, no one here is to blame.

However, I have never seen such abhorrent reporting in my entire existence. For me, it is not uncommon to read one thing by one writer and a completely different accounting by another reporter. Worse still is that some of our 'former' good and solid people we've come to know and trust as much as you can a 'talking head' the electronic media (On the Record, America's Newsroom (Fox) NG, and some other cable news stations) are borderline worse. If possible could someone assist me with these particulars?

Is it 100% confirmed that Brianna was molested/raped/sexually assaulted? Just minor details please. Next: The UW for all we know could have come straight out of the family hamper; this could be a lousy attempt for the perp to try and taunt LE; however, again a lousy attempt at that. Also, was Brianna found naked?

I wrote to three different journalists today—politely mind you—and simply asked if they would either check with their sources as to the validity of their report and if they weren't 100% sure then please would they not write it insofar as it only gives rise to 'he said, she said' atmosphere.

No, it is not confirmed that Brianna was raped. I have only heard the terminology LE used, "sexually motivated crime".

NG, AMW, and even Greta have been erroneously reporting things which we have learned are not factual to our knowledge of the case. They seem to be mixing in their own take on things and I have noticed quite a few mistakes in their reporting.

Good for you! Someone needs to get the stories correct and report them accordingly!

Great post Levi and I agree..it is hard enough to keep all the individuals straight ,what took place when, and how or to what degree..and then when talking heads add in details that the LE have not confirmed, that comes from an undisclosed source, it gets very hard to sift through to try to accurately profile this man and his next move.

As to his occupation, I'm just speculating along with everyone else but thank you for the second part of your post about the media reports. I'm tending to believe what the local Reno media has posted since it generally comes right from LE, rather than taking what Nancy or Greta say as truth unless a local reporter is being interviewed and says it. I've seen it happen in other cases with Nancy particularly where things get exaggerated. I do believe when Mark reports for Greta that it's accurate since he isn't a "reporter" but former LE.
