This chaps my hide too. I still have doubts that Amanda is innocent. I think she should give half the money to the Kerscher family. Whether she is guilty or innocent she is still making money off of a murdered young woman which I think is wrong. Amanda should be greatful she is free and home in the states. In fact, she should donate all of it. Half to charity and half to the Kerschers. Oh well, I can dream!

The argument of profiting off the death of a child by writing a book is, in my opinion, ridiculous. Are we saying NOTHING should ever be written EVER about a dead person so that nobody makes any money? Ever? Really?

But there are many who have written articles, books, theses, etc on deaths of children. Children who die, usually do so unnaturally and/or tragically. Much can be learned from those who have worked with such cases. Medically, spiritually, legally. Why does this case warrant special judgement?

I believe the books are about the mother who was accused of killing her child so it would be the mother who bears the responsibility for the death of her child. Any money she makes or her family has made through the child's name would be considered "making money off the dead child." Everyone else is making money off the trial of the accused mother. There is a big difference. If it were not for the mother there would have never been any money to have been made by anyone. Now wouldn't that have been nice. jmo
