The noise you heard, was the noise of running in an open door. But about a year ago, I was more or less mobbed for mentioning the possibility that the hunting ground is maybe the red light scene and the private clubs between Hell's Kitchen and Madison Square Garden (about-ish). Some of the phone calls to Melissa's sister were pin pointed in that area, the BDSM scene is there with some clubs, the wider scene for the very normal taste is there, the 46th Street, where MBB had the hotel room ...
So if you think, the time is right, to discuss that again, I'm in.

They traced a second phone that belonged to her to an ex-con who said he picked it up after a tussle between hookers in Times Square orchestrated by a pimp.

one of the frequent #'s in her other phone was for a married guy that claimed she never showed for her appt with him in a JERSEY CITY motel, SG's hometown--not saying any linkage, just saying another odd link these SG and GB4 cases keep popping up with to people(poi's) and cities(i.e. TT/Buffalo/MB)--probably just coincidences in all of them, but odd nonetheless

Not that strange at all. In a way prostitution si a wide-range business, especially when it comes to prostitution via internet, be it Craigslist or other sites. Make an experiment: First, you try to find a prostitute in NYC via the internet. No problem, you will find hundreds if not more ads. Next, try to find a prostitute via the internet in say Plumsted or New Egypt, both in New Jersey. That will be a lot harder. So, Johns look up in New York, not their small home towns which mostly have no own categories in Craigslist. And prostitutes offer their services in New York, assuming, nobody looks especially for a pro in Podunk. Therefore the geographical spread behind this NYC ad-collections.

Do we know for all four victims, where they lived in NY? Just to make sure, the obvious Craigslist ad isn't the only common denominator. No, to be honest, I doubt, this is the common denominator at all. It's that kind of "all victims breathed are while alive, so we can conclude, the killer is a carbon-based oxygen-breathing life from too. It's technically correct and somehow senseless. So there must be something else. Craigslist is full, so why pick four victims, which look basically different?

I just had the same thought. Apparently not original ; ) I agree that CL might not be THE (only) connection. After all EVERYBODY in this business seems to advertise on CL. Maybe, the connection is another person or place.

Then check out when and what price he paid for his house at OB in 2000, and how much and who he sold it to in 2005. Check out what this fellow did in his illustrious career - drugs and prostitution enterprises. MM, I actually posted both stories written by former Newsday reporter Rick Firstman. It was sometime in the 1980's. The MODERATOR took them down because of copyright issues......whatever they were. The story was almost 25 years old and was written in a major newspaper. I just wonder what the heck the problem was.

The Devil is in the details. I guess I look at this case in a very different way than most of you folks do. I know there is almost no chance we can figure out who the killer(s) is. How could we. Sure we can come up with a list of our own 'usual suspects'. So what?

What troubled me is Dormer calling SG and accidential death when there was no reason to believe it was. That the Bissint rumor started almost out of thin air. IMO, it couldn't have gone as viral as it did if it wasn't started by the PD. A least two posters have mentioned they spoke to cops and they said it was Bissint. Unfortunatlely, I have a wider experience with SCPD than most of you do. I guessed this BS was coming and it did.

What I don't think happened is the LE was not prepared for the rumor to spread so fast and so strongly. It kind of knocked them for a loop. They would have needed more time to pile on more BS. Believe it or not this is SOP for them.
