While surfing the blogs last week, some of the posters were saying that Bryan Carr died a couple of months ago. I have wondered where he has been all this time...he was a regular on some of the HLN shows. It's a mystery within a mystery.

i haven't heard that, and it doesn't say any thing about that on his fb, the last i heard of him was after the interview where he was talking crazy about some blood atonement ritual and lds mafia in an interview, then i saw an article about a criminal record, then i saw on "the other sites" that JA said she didn't want any thing to do w/ him any more, and thats the last i saw of him

That's what I'm talking about! I tried to read her emotions after Martinez finished his closing and they were at the front with the judge. But I DIDNT see any concerns. I did notice the bailiff almost on her lap! He was watching her and the mitigation lady talking. Jodie ws reading something and pointing to the lady! The bailiff made her stop! Did anyone see that too?

I thought that was particularly noticeable too. He was standing right over her appearing as if he was trying to get her moving, the MIT specialist finishes with her then Jodi pours herself some water.

She seemed even more defiant than usual. Maybe she realized the next time she's in that room her fate is sealed. MOO

Seriously? Wow, do you have a link or can you tell me where I could read on this. TIA

Isn't it just a sad show to see JA's 'support group' consisting of mom and twin all poker faced (unless they are laughing), the ex con wo-man Donovan and pal, and now they have to slap a ribbon on poor old grammy and wheel her in. Poor woman can't even stay awake. I wonder if she even knows what's going on in that room. I hope they let her stay home for the reading of the verdict. I'd hate to see them have to wake her up to tell her what the verdict is.

Don't you find it very strange that Momma has gotten all pally with Donovan? Weirdness.

I find her family as strange and scary as she is. I do not recall her mother or aunt reacting to any of the horrible, horrible slaughter of Travis. I would have been in tears or hysterics. FTLOG, if my child had done something that horrible I am sure I would have to be medicated. Just the thought that I bore a child that could slaughter another human being would probably have me in a straight jacket. Her mother in particular knew she had serious mental problems. Her siblings have been there one day I think. Her father and Grandmother are in no physical condition to be there. The day they came in with the Domestic Abuse ribbons did it in for me....no sympathy in me for them. Sorry I seem to be rambling

It would have seemed very contrived if she had.

By the time she testified, she had spent more time in Jail than in a relationship with Travis. He's been gone for 5 years now.

I don't see where people say she's not remorseful - as she did display remorse during the trial - at least in what I would consider appropriate for a courtroom setting. She was being crossed by a man who wants to put her to death - so "toe to toe" is kinda normal - isn't it?

...I'm also of the mind - though - that the "self-defense" was simply the way to pleading to a lower charge. She had already wanted to plead guilty to 2nd degree murder - but Mr Martinez wouldn't accept that.

I would guess that her defense is actually a way of allowing a jury to decide if a lesser charge is appropriate - since the prosecutor refused.

I can say she's not remorseful and take it to the bank. Not once, ever, has she said "I'm sorry." Not ever. She said she felt ashamed, but never sorry. In fact, her DT has already filed the motion regarding her lack of remorse as a legal entity, it's a wicked read. She will never admit or show remorse, even if convicted of Murder 1. That pretty much says it all.

This line of questioning by Nurmi is absurd.

The TA head is propped up by JA foot and leg and TA arm is held upright by JA in a dragging position. TA is decidedly dead or at least agonal in this photo.
Nurmi = The amount of blood running down his neck is not indicative of a neck slash!!!!

Nonsense!

JA sliced TA neck and severed his left carotid artery and jugular vein. TA head was pointed down during this lethal injury. TA bled out some 4- 5 liters of blood that spilled out on the carpet. Once JA turned the body in recumbent position there was little to no circulating blood that would ooze from the wound.

Zeno49:

Look at the first injured picture of Travis. The floor is tile in that picture.

So how do you make sense of what happened, given that picture and the last one?

I bet for years Jodi has been reminding bailiffs / prison staff / anyone else that works for the State, that she is still an innocent person, and not a convicted prisoner .. I bet there's a few staff members around the jail that will be happy to rub it in a little when it finally happens.

Thanks Nhic for sharing this and Mike for writing. I have tears streaming down my cheeks.

And yes, the spirit of Travis has been here and there throughout. I can just picture Travis doing exactly as Mike said.

With love to all.

It does not work for me?

Zeno, I really have no idea what you just said but you sounded brilliant. Oh no, you are in the Einstein club with Jodi! In essence, did they lie? B/c that is what I took from Wilmont and Nurmi and the other site. If I think they lied (I'm not brilliant but I am not stupid either) than one of the jurors may think the same. Either way, all Jodi's activities prove premed to me. Only thing is if jurors think prosecution team lied than they may think they have something to cover up (sortof how the defense works).

The ME did not lie BUT his signed report was technically in error on a point the defense could have exploited with their own pathologist.
The mix up is more of a minor technicality. In fact to Horn’s embarrassment he got caught on a report with an error. Horn recovered by saying it was typographical error. I am sure it was NOT a typographical error.

Horn back in 2008 when doing the autopsy exposed TA brain. He grossly inspects the exposed dura. The dura is undisturbed. There is NO hemorrhage on beneath or above the dura mater as viewed at that juncture of the autopsy. Horn is dictating his findings which are transcribed. Had TA suffered blunt trauma from a blunt instrument to the head the exposed dura would have been injured and Horn would have described those injuries at this point of the autopsy. The knife slashes to his neck and occiput were superficial and did not injure bone or underlying dura or brain cortex.

Horn had to cut the hindbrain and free the entire brain by cutting it away from the encompassing dura mater. There is a lot of work freeing up the brain before one can examine the undersurface of the frontal lobe OR view the entry and exit wound of the frontal fossa. The bullet penetrated the right frontal bone and IMMEDIATELY penetrated the undersurface of the dura mater. It would have been redundant to mention that the dura and arachnoid were injured at the bullet entry point of the right frontal lobe undersurface. To grossly deliver the brain and free it from the cranial vault in order to examine it grossly the dura is peeled off but the arachnoid tissue is still closely adherent to the brain cortex. On the other hand based on the defense contention that originated first in 2010 or later this technical detail made explicit would have been helpful but it was not ESSENTIAL.

Horn is correct to say – the dura had to be encroached based on the entry and exit wound orientation of TA’s skull.

I don't think it had anything to do with JM being happy or not. His office will be prosecuting him for the extreme DUI and I think it was a conflict of interest. JMO

Thanks, you answered my question I asked a couple of pages back. Makes sense that there would be a conflict of interest.

1. In California, she told Daryl she was going to Mesa.
2. Back in Yreka, she told her mom that she had the receipts to prove she wasn't in Mesa.

clear as crystal.

Before this takes off like the Bobby Juarez is dead rumor...the Social Security Death Index doesn't show any entry that would match BC. It is updated every couple of weeks. I could be wrong, but there is no entry to make us think BC passed on.

Do you think that her attorneys have prepared her for the worst? Or are they afraid to? Especially wilmott who sits so close to her with all them Lil pencils.?
I don't know if they have prepared her for the worst.

IMO, the DT doesn't need to prepare Jodi for anything. She knows what she did and that everything she's said is a lie. Basically, all they can say is 'We did what we could'.

I also firmly believe if Jodi ever is released from prison, she WILL kill again. This trial was a like a post grad degree in murder for her to hone the skills.

I think Juan did an awesome job on his closing

I was really happy when he explained what circumstantial evidence was to the jury

It was needed and he did it

I think they have told her their case was not good & to prepare for the worse.
Jodi knows herself she is toast..I really believe that!!

Really? I respectfully disagree. Yes, at times she looked frightened and even defeated, but those moments vere rather brief. I think a normal person vould recognize at this point that she/he is toast, but she either can't or, more likely, von't. She's too much of a delusional narcissist (among other things) to recognize, let alone accept, the reality that she's about to be convicted of a heinous crime. In her la-la land, nothing is ever her fault (as JM drove home).

BTV :)floorlaugh:): during JM's final closing I kept on thinking of "The Suicide Kings" "you da man"!

IMO, this trial has never been about guilt/innocence. Jodi admitted the crime; the jury must decide the DEGREE of guilt.

I agree.....When kn said IF SHE IS GUILTY OF ANY CRIME AT ALL, it's manslaughter...I turned to my DH and said WTF did he just say? We both sat looking at each other with our mouths hanging open.

Good evening friends! I posted about this Friday but was soon after distracted by family stuff ("Mom, where's my phone? Mom, tell Andrew to quit staring at me!") but anyway, I'm going to light a candle for Travis tonight, during Tricia's podcast, and send all sorts of good energy to Travis's friends and family. We all want their prayers to be answered soon. So in the spirit of positive thinking, do ya'll want to light a candle for Travis tonight (8pm EST)?
