Penalty Phase - Verdict Watch

I would be interested in a poll on the tee shirt display. Do you think that was Jodi's idea or one of either her attorneys or mitigation specialist?

Hers. I have a total mental picture of a red-faced Nurmi stomping his feet behind closed doors because JA is her own worst enemy. I am sure they were LIVID - here they are trying to save her life and she wants to show these stupid Survivor t-shirts to the very jury that doesn't believe she was a victim of DV.

My body has taken severe hits from being held hostage in this chair for the past 4+ months.

That's what he said, Bee! Further, if it is LIFE, the judge will sentence her, and there is no way in this world Her Honor will give her the possibility for parole. She has heard it all, too, and more than the jury did, as we know. The judge allowed a lot of testimony when she o'ruled many times for both sides, and she tried to be as flexible as possible due to this being a DP case, but I don't think she will let this defendant have a chance to walk the streets with the rest of the world. Ever.

Exactly, he did say it, but he didn't say she would be out in 25 years if she got life in prison. Juan wouldn't say that because it's not the truth. He said she could be out in 25 years. That's a little different.

Chile rellanos for everybody! (God that makes me hungry). Cause technically I guess you are both right.

CKJA is the type of person who would, in my late mother's words, "talk you to death."

But I think she's inadvertantly talked herself to death now.

I have such a hunch that today's the day. I think the jury may have already decided but wanted to take a night to sleep on it.
If they show up in their nice clothes today we'll know they're ready to give CKJA her THIRD terrible no-good Wednesday in a row!

Seems like Jodi couldn't keep her story straight in one of her interviews yesterday. In the ABC 15 video--2nd video 4:40 minutes in--she claims Travis' anger over the dropped camera was not instantaneous but built over a matter of minutes. Umm hello he was on the floor covered in blood 62 seconds after the supposed dropped camera photo.

I was hoping the reporter was going to call her out on this; she almost paused like she was about to, then moved on. Shame someone doesn't really call her out on all of her ******** lies

A question for any/all of you mental health people -

Does all this "stuff" just roll off JA's toogue naturally -or does she prepare her statements in advance. I cannot believe I am aa old as I am and obviously still quite naive. I have absolutely never met anyone like her in my entire life and all I can say is - thanks heavens. She is absolutely the scariest person I have ever seen; it truly does frighten me that people like her walk amongst us.

Exactly....

I hope she gets DP so she will not get to be the Queen Bee and have to spend ALL her time ALONE.

But, if she does get life....I really hope the other inmates school her real quick if she thinks she can get away with patronizing them like that!

Vinnie on HLN said that he contacted AZ corrections and whether she gets DP or Life, she will be in a cell alone 23 hours a day. Her "queen of the jail" days are over. And, frankly, she should be thankful for her isolation - the long timers in prison would chew her up and spit her out. They would be disgusted by the little "media diva" coming in like she owns the place.

Can someone explain to me whether or not a client HAS to do what their attorneys advise them to do? I was under the impression that they could advise their clients against something, or towards something, but not that they had complete control over the direction their case went. I am still trying to figure out how it is that Jodi can claim that her attorneys wouldn't allow people, like her mother, to testify for her who would help her case. It makes no sense. If there were all of these witnesses to her bruises, as she claimed, why WOULDN'T they want to call those people? How could the state stop that from happening? Why wouldn't ALV have spoken to people who would have helped her case so she wouldn't have to sit there and say "I only talked to Jodi and read emails/texts/instant messages for proof of this abuse?" I mean, obviously, this just shows that Jodi is lying, but how does she not realize how easily it is to arrive at that conclusion? Or do attorneys really do have that much control over what happens in their clients criminal cases?

I don't even understand that either. Why would she feel like they betrayed her when they were doing their job. Its the same abuse story from mom betraying her, dad betraying her, multiple boyfriends etc etc ending with TA, JM, JW, KN and the jury.

Its almost like she just doesn't understand normal society and boundaries at all. Period.

Yet, she herself has never betrayed or hurt another person and should be forgiven for everything. Its something I have never seen nor have I ever been privy to knowing in person. Its eye opening to see the display.

K

Jodi feels "betrayed" by anyone that doesn't fall for her manipulations or lies. People are "haters" if they don't go along with her agenda and agree to be her narcissistic "supply source". You (Jodi) only cry for yourself...Travis Alexander. That's her problem.

I can't wait until this is over and she is in that cement cell. After yesterday I am still so fuming mad.

:seeya:

So here's what's really bothering me this morning. It's bothered me before but it's on my mind again after her ridiculous interviews last night.

I HATE that fact that she doesn't care what she did. She has ZERO remorse, and more importantly, I think she loves what she did. I just can't reconcile how a person cannot have regret or be sorry!!!!

SHE DOES NOT CARE and I can't seem to let go of the anger in regards to that. It feels like there will never be that small sense of 'closure' because she thinks this is all a big publicity tour, The Jodi Arias Show, no mind that Travis is dead.

It's eating me alive.

You can not change that about her. She is what she is. But you are letting her change you and THAT you can control. She wants exactly this. To make an impact on you.

I worry about people with this kind of investment in this trial. That they hate or are so angry.

JA..love your 'Wicked Witch of the West' leggings!!!

I love that the interviewer made it a point to let us know that, JA was insistent on the prison garb not being seen during the interview. Then the very first frame we see of the interview is her sitting there in her prison pants getting all primped up. :floorlaugh:

In your face Jodi, In your face! :floorlaugh:

BBM: Once again, attempting to blame the victim. Travis Victor Alexander did nothing to "precipitate" his murder. The Jury has spoken and this was not a "crime of passion".

Jodi Ann Arias is a narcissistic, cunning, sociopathic murderer who premeditated the vicious killing of Travis Victor Alexander with guile, contempt and reckless abandon. She is completely incapable of experiencing and expressing any semblance of normal human emotions.

Aside from her defense lawyers, I find it utterly revolting that people want to make illogical excuses ( "crime of passion", Travis "precipitated it" ) for her heinous actions. The woman is a calculating, cold-blooded killer period. There is no excuse for the crime that she committed and now she will answer for her actions. I have every confidence that this jury will uphold their oath of duty and mete out the appropriate punishment. An eye for an eye.

As far as crossing one's eyes, I highly doubt if such a thing will engender censure. I do believe, however, that subversive, thinly veiled attempts at trashing the victim, at any point in time, will be dealt with appropriately.

the people who are clinging to this 'crime of passion' thing have obviously chosen to ignore the CLEAR evidence of premeditation. this was not just a fight that erupted that day.
she planned this for at least a week, and the jury was convinced of that. i don't get why people here aren't convinced of it as well.
there is NO way to explain away or dismiss the evidence that she thought about this for days, set out on her mission and carried it out.

I think most attorney's don't have clients like JA. That's the problem.

I want to know if Juan could have asked Mama Arias about the NE visit and the fraudulent letters she wanted them to publish for Jodi?
