Someone in the comments section of the Seattle Times story thought perhaps she is a missing woman, Jennifer Marie Wictor, and didn’t want to be found. The first link is a pic of Jennifer, the second is a comparison of the two women side by side. If Lori was looking down a bit more I think they would like a lot alike, except for Lori is obviously older. The smile is similar as are the eyebrows. The only major difference is the nose. Lori had breast implants, perhaps she also had a nose job.

My first post-- found you guys through the Seattle times article and have been following along.

I think we should add the tea party angle, which I find weird for someone trying to fit into the southern landscape, but maybe not if she was wealthy... The vegetarian thing is a little weird too.

"Jackson" on the scribbled notes looks like two words to me-- Jack son, and could refer to her son or someone else's son.


I also found the photo last night of the taped-mouth girl supposed to be Tara, and I think it could fit. If the photo surfaced in 1989, that doesn't mean it was not taken earlier, and if LEK is not Tara, she could still be the girl in the photo.

I think we should make a list of all of the things on the scribble note paper and what they may refer to. I also think that the 402 months might be 40&2 or 40 2 months (perhaps referring to $40/2 months, etc.).

The handwriting changes could be linked with personality / mental disorders. I know this firsthand, because my daughter has an autoimmune disorder causing personality changes and her handwriting change change and deteriorate in a matter of seconds. The signature on the forged reference letter looks too different to be hers in my opinion. (I wish I had my handwriting analysis books handy, but don't...)

I live in East Texas, near Longview. The tea party theme is pretty popular around here. Church ladies have tea parties quite frequently. There was a Christian writers convention in Dallas a while back and the the theme was tea party...fancy hats, gloves, finger sandwiches. Bridal showers sometimes have a tea party theme. There was even a "Tea Room" cafe near me where they had fancy hats one could borrow and wear while dining.

I do think the vegetarian diet is weird. Texas BBQ is the best!

If I up and ran away in high school or thereafter, the temptation to look and see if anyone in my old life was looking for me would be too much. Could she be from a reservation and ran away, or some religious community where she had no birth certificate, and she simply wanted one to get a driver's license, so she obtained a SSN? Did she know that no one would be looking for her, anyway?

Years ago I worked with two girls who were sisters that were born in a commune in Georgia. They did not receive birth certificates. One of them went into the army as a young adult so she had to have gotten something later on. That same girl had some personal difficulties in her life and went back into that commune that she was born in. So it's possible Lori Ruff had been born into one of these types of communities and simply decided the easiest thing to do to get "papers" would be to pretend to be someone who had died as an infant. If her parents were somehow "out of the picture" or if she had been home schooled at the commune or something...would make sense that she wouldn't want to bring up her past.

P.S. I've tried to look up the girl who went back into the commune and there's pretty much zippo information about her. I simply wanted to see how she was doing as I hadn't heard anything about her in years. If Lori had a connection with such a commune, there won't be any records about her former life to be found online most likely.

Not necessarily. If she was from a religious organisation or cult, there's a chance that nobody will recognize her. She could've grown up secluded from the outside world and once she left, she left all the people who knew her behind.

Given the region where they think she originates from, I wouldn't be too surprised if this was the case... but we simply can't know.

REad more about Sheri's father Henry Harbison who was a terrible criminal. She may have escaped from him (or he died) and had been hiding from him and the Church of the New Song people. Read about Franklin Floyd and how he kidnapped a girl and raised her as his own; then later married her in New Orleans. Sick, awful people IMO.

The problem I have with Sheri Johnson is that she would have been taken as a small child, and presumably raised under another name. FLEK was obviously educated enough to pass her GED, get a business degree, and do all of this identity theft stuff. This means that if she was Sheri, she would have gone all through life with a name that worked. Why a new name in 1988? Was it because she wanted a driver's license and whoever raised her didn't have a birth certificate? If she knew her family history of coming from such an incident, why not bring it to light after the passing of those who committed crimes? If she didn't know the family history, why go to such lengths to hide? She would surely think she was just a regular girl, just like everybody.

Have we discussed transportation methods? How did she get to Idaho? And from Idaho to TX?

I checked Texas DMV Records and they only went back 10 years, not as far back as 1987/88 when she assumed her new ID.. I posted more on an earlier page.. But I agree there is no missing person report. She will be recognized, or we might find some record (vehicle registration, classmate, yearbook photo, etc-- or other record when she went from her real name to her fake ID... or some other possible tiny tidbit of evidence she left, but after all these years it seems most Government records are purged unless we can find it on Ancestry, etc , it seems like she didn't make any mistakes...

I have a few loom books from good reads (and just bought 8 more lol) but I remember when I was younger and attended anarchist book fairs, these books were a big damn deal. These were often a few of the holy grail of books, and often the authors would speak. This was in the early 90's till 5 years ago when I quit going. I wonder what the reason is that they suspect she had a nose job? Depending on if she had bridge work or just the tip reconstructed .. there would possibly be tiny scars (but they fade..). i'm wondering if she had bridge work, easy to tell if you were to feel it.
