In stories like this I always think of the case of Michelle Garvey, a teenager went missing in the 70s from New London, CT, and was identified decades later as a doe in Texas. There was no indication she had gone that far away, but luckily a sleuth with an open mind suggested her as a match anyway.

Did anyone watch? What was his basis for requesting early release for his ridiculously light sentence?

i am shocked they wouldnt make that contact in person to begin with. the truth of that baby's life died with that woman.

According to this post by the Harlan County Coroner’s Office, it sounds like 8/11/22 is the date her body was found and the authorities kept her remains for a period of time to investigate COD...

i have listened to that call so many times and have never heard anything intelligible on it. i think people are hearing what they want to hear.

i agree. but i also go back and forth about whether i want to know any more. i look at my own small sons and think of JZ's tiny little body being tossed out like garbage and my heart breaks into about a thousand pieces. i can't imagine his life was blissful and happy until the day he was beaten...
