Stalls occupy the square outside Superdrug/Carphone Warehouse, Cornhill, Buttermarket, the Traverse, Abbeygate Street.

I believe it's provide your own stall as they vary in size and colour and you get the meat and fruit & veg vans.

So why did people say the market stall holders setting up would have seen Corrie in the horseshoe? Confused...

Hello all
Brand new to WS and nervous about posting, but have read all previous threads and viewed docs and interviews etc and lurked for a long time.

It may be absolutely nothing, and I may have have missed it in the many posts, but I was always intrigued by the amount of food that he purchased. A kebab, chips and two bugers... it sounded to me like a meal for two, not one.

Could this add add to the waiting time to meet someone theory?

Welcome to you and yes I think that's a credible thought - he'll of a lot of good for one.

Long time lurker here, finally got around to registering as this case has got me well and truly baffled.

I'm a criminology / psychology graduate and my gut feeling is that this is possibly a case of AWOL gone wrong (to phrase it as kindly as possible)

I watched it on iplayer though. I'm not local to BSE and don't get Look East here. It was on iplayer for a day (or two?) after it was broadcast, it was the whole 30 minute programme of Look East, not just the story about Corrie and Nicola's interview.

ETA - I've just looked on iplayer and it seems that the Look East regional news programmes are available there for 24 hours after broadcast ended. So the one that was on at 6.30pm today goes off iplayer tomorrow at 7pm. Same for the shorter lunchtime one.
I did definitely see it on iplayer. I remember because it asked me to confirm that I have a TV licence before it would play.

Do I have the wrong end of the stick here?

There was an edition of the nightly Look East about Corrie that was on iplayer for 24 hours, the live broadcast tracing Corrie's journey was a separate one that afaik has never been shown on TV

It is an official BBC page so hopefully OK

If you search for Corrie it's on 9 December

Thanks but that isn't the correct one! The one I'm talking about is where the camera crew go from So Bar to Corn Exchange to Flex and interview a person that interacted with Corrie that night. It even displayed more specific times he arrived at each place. The BBC article Anniesnoop posted earlier is basically a transcript of the video I'm talking about.

I am year 3 of a criminology/psych degree :) welcome!

I disagree with AWOL, I think meet-up gone wrong though I am unsure if it was pre-arranged or if Corrie wandered over to someone in a car in the horseshoe and struck up a convo.

Ok, sorry, in that case I don't think the other programme is still available

I could be wrong but I think the one your looking for is the one from Armed forces TV ?

I'm sorry but are we back to sleeping in the bins again?

It was a recycling bin. Manually sorted. The other bins in the horseshoe were emptied after he was reported missing on Monday.

He could not have been crushed to death in the recycling lorry and then been unseen the other side during the manual sorting process.

To have been in any other bin lorry he'd have to have been in that bin all weekend. Without getting out, or anyone using the bin seeing him.

He could have gotten a lift inside the bin lorry but why wait around so long for that?

There is lots and lots of information out there that we cannot reference here. It's well worth looking about before forming opinions on events. In my opinion you cannot get any real picture of event based on msm and le alone.

What are you reasons for ruling out AWOL, out of interest?

I'm thinking spontaneous AWOL, drink fuelled and following a let down of a night out (friends leaving without him, change of plans from the original party, getting escorted out of the night club). This could have been the "final straw" and led to a need to get away.

I do think there was third party involvement. To fit with my line of thought, I would say he met with someone in the Horseshoe area who handed him a change of clothes, cash etc. I agree with the people saying the figure captured on CCTV could be Corrie.

The third party may have come forward in confidence to the police and told them what happened (hence their lack of visable "effort").

The problem is that Corrie is not where he said he would be and has not been in touch and an other option has to be considered. Did the attention that this impromptu AWOL bring, and the questions being asked of him, lead Corrie to take further action?

I think the crucial info, in this case, is what is not being said about his general wellbeing.

All my opinion and based on my readings on here. Hope I've not broken any rules, have tried to put my thoughts across as discreetly as possible.

I think you have many valid points. My struggle with spontaneous awol is that the decision and help of third party would have to have been quite quickly done.

Welcome Chellbu, I am interested in why you feel this is AWOL gone wrong, as opposed to AWOL?

Polo, not sure what I can say on here and it is a very sensitive matter. In my opinion it fits with what I'm seeing.

His body language on the Horseshoe CCTV doesn’t strike me as that of a man who is arriving at a scheduled meeting with someone who is already waiting in the area.

He’s walking down the left-hand side of the street at a fast pace, as if he’s originally intending to pass straight by the Horseshoe. If he intended to head straight into there, wouldn’t he be in the middle or on the right side of the street?

It looks more like a spontaneous reaction to turn into the area - as he passes, his attention is drawn by some kind of object and suddenly he gets a thought in his head that it could be interesting or useful - an unlocked bike on the rack to help him get back home more quickly, some discarded clothes to put on to keep warm or a discreet place to go to the toilet.

Perhaps, even, he sees someone at one of the parked cars and goes over to ask them whether they might be heading in his direction.

Either that, or one of the back doors or gates is open and he senses an opportunity to find somewhere more comfortable to bed down.

And if we can get Corrie past the Cornhill camera then we can get him down into Looms Lane, which would be a good route to walk back to Honington via Muscow St (sp?) and Eastgate. But surely all that area would have been searched?
But the point is we can't, because he hasn't been seen on cctv and would had to have been if he left area. Not just talking about HS but not seen anywhere else on cctv in BSE!

Maybe he planned to run off and he dumped a bag of clothing in the horseshoe earlier on. He perhaps has sussed the cameras out or met someone down there. I think he's done a runner and he's had help with it.

Totally agree.

Hi Chellbu78, if there's something you think is important but want to check out if it's ok to say here, you can report your own post to a Mod. Tell them what it is you want to say and they'll give you guidance.
If you're on a desktop the 'Alert' button is on the bottom left in a red triangle it's a ! in the triangle. Can't help with mobile, sorry.

That is useful to know as sometimes I take a stand back as I'm afraid I'll say something that isn't allowed 🤐😯

The Forces TV one isn't the one I was thinking of either. I definitely saw it on iplayer so it was BBC content.
Hence my earlier confused post!
I can't find it anywhere now and I had it bookmarked. This is frustrating. :tantrum:
