I wasn't aware this may be contentious. I am looking with fresh eyes and hadn't seen the information and evidence before or discussed it as some of you may have.

However, as I understand BRE's DNA? was left at the scene of VC's murder and this is as close as to a fact you can get. The same evidence (DNA?) left at the VC's sexual assault and murder was found left at the site of the Huntingdale assault in Feb 1998, on a kimono. The kimono was paraded on the front page of the West Australian just after the Huntingdale attack because of the strong evidence (DNA?) linking the two crimes.

The cops were convinced if they knew who's DNA it was they would have VC's murderer, and said so. The same evidence (DNA?) has now been used to link KK rape and murders of CG and JR and proved to belong to BRE before he was charged with those crimes.

Lucky for BRE no one knew who the DNA belonged to in 1988.

David Troy Masters was caught for murdering a 21 year old backpacker in Katherine in May 1991, he strangled her after attempting to rape her. He then confessed to murdering VC, which was described as a savage and unrelenting sexual assault and murder. Cops have never said whether they had any evidence on Masters for VC so I assume they had but he confessed anyway, which was very lucky for BRE. The evidence (DNA?) linking BRE to VC and Huntingdale assault was put away and forgotten for a long period of time.

Thought it would be good to start a timeline re some of the unsolved Perth 1988 attacks/ disappearances - please feel free to edit and add.

28 May 1988 - women abducted from Sheraton, beaten and assaulted dumped corner of leach Highway & Centenary Drive - possibly driving a small yellow Toyota.
Early June 1988 - 15 year old girl assaulted Mirrabooka Avenue - a woman in yellow Toyota took her to Mirrabooka shopping centre
20 June 1988 - JC, last seen leaving Pamelia Hilton 12:30am

They are all very close to each other, time wise.

Thinking about the yellow Toyota and associations with the car, and the ages of the women abducted, one was 45, 15 and 22. Maybe there was 2 men involved, one young and another older. All speculation.

In 1988 when detectives showed the kimono in the media, they had no idea who killed VC. They were clutching at straws when they suggested the kimono, which was dropped at the Huntingdale scene, was somehow linked to the murder of VC! The only commonality was that they were both sexual crimes! I don't know if it was made public, but VC was strangled with an electrical cord from either a lamp or iron. It was a far stretch to make a link at all (IMO)..but I guess it's all they had to work with at the time!

Just an errant comment, but about likely drivers of yellow Toyotas. In the mid 80s our school science teacher had a beige/cream/yellowish Toyota. Not weird, really very ordinary and conservative chap. Later 80s a twenty year old male friend had a yellow land cruiser like vehicle, more 'Rav4'. He was Greek actually and I'm sure thought he was pretty manly with no car colour influencing either way.
Finally Karate Kid chooses a yellow car(!).
Tangential I know, but just to give another voice to the opinion about 'the car must have been a womans.

I would hardly call lying on a girl a sex crime and it was only important as it had evidence (DNA?) to link to VC's sexual assault.They didn't know who the evidence (DNA?) belonged to at the time but were confident it would lead them to the brutal murderer. Reading the later reports IMO, they knew it was DNA at the time, but had no match.

Advances in forensic science and DNA profiling have been pivotal for investigators. DNA found on a silk dressing gown dropped near the scene of the 1988 incident allegedly matched DNA recovered from the body of Ms Glennon and the Karrakatta rape victim.

Strangling would fit in with Vanessa Devlin's strangling while being raped.

Waking in your own bed in your own house to find a complete stranger lying on top of you would be horrifying. He was absolutely wanting/going to do more. it most definitely is a sex crime.

Updated timeline to 1995 #Groks Timeline
28 May 1988 – Woman abducted from Sheraton, beaten and assaulted, dumped corner of Leach Highway & Centenary Drive – possibly driving a small yellow Toyota.

RSBM Woman was 45 from article Woman dumped after sexual assault. This comment was to add in the age because I feel it is relevant. Whether or not JC at the Parmelia and the Sheraton case are related hopefully at one stage we will find out.

The other comment below is not backed up by MSM. Not denying it didn't happen but the rest seems to be backed up by research.

Just an errant comment, but about likely drivers of yellow Toyotas. In the mid 80s our school science teacher had a beige/cream/yellowish Toyota. Not weird, really very ordinary and conservative chap. Later 80s a twenty year old male friend had a yellow land cruiser like vehicle, more 'Rav4'. He was Greek actually and I'm sure thought he was pretty manly with no car colour influencing either way.
Finally Karate Kid chooses a yellow car(!).
Tangential I know, but just to give another voice to the opinion about 'the car must have been a womans.

Agree - if I recall correctly being a child of the 80's there were plenty of blokes getting around in yellow cars in the late 80's. Especially Toyota Celica's, Corollas and plenty of yellow datsuns around aswell.
