Trial Date Set For Suspect in 2017 Seminole Heights Slayings

A trial date for Howell Donaldson III has been set for Aug. 10, 2020.
Donaldson appeared in a Hillsborough County courtroom Tuesday and listened as his defense team told Circuit Judge Mark Wolfe it still has more than 200 people to interview in this case. They also said they were not sure if they could complete those interviews in time for the trial.

That's the way it works -- the defense tries to delay for as long as they possibly can. Witnesses forget, they move away and possibly cannot be found, they die, etc., etc. It's what defense attorneys do...WOW. Talk about the wheels of justice turning slowly. And still, the defense thinks they may not be ready?!?! Crazy.

Unfortunately, the prosecution can't protect the parents from insensitive and cruel questioning by the defense. The father expressed concerns:All I can say is that prosecutors in that county certainly do things differently. How do they end up alienating the parents of one of the victims (per link above)?
