This may be completely unrealistic- but is it possible that she was buried deep in the sand?

(I’m still thinking most likely is passing out and getting washed away, but...)

IF someone on the island did do her harm, I got to thinking that it might be possible to bury her and she may not be easily discovered. Deep down nearer to the shoreline where you wouldn’t see disturbed ground.

I’m assuming, and certainly hoping, that they went over that island with a fine-toothed comb.

MOO.

Never crossed my mind that she could be under the sand!

I’d love to hear from some others who were around her in the last few weeks what her state of mind has been like. I’m wondering if she had some sort of mental break that culminated with wandering into the water, and not making it back out. I doubt she is buried under the sand - too many people too close together, if something nefarious happened to her I feel like someone would have heard something..?

How hard was she grieving is a relevant question. She lost her father and step father in rapid succession. Did she have the tools to help her get though it? Was she so devastated it practically caused her to be bedridden? Or unable to function? Did it cause her to be suicidal? Did she have mental strength or was she mentally weak, in having to deal with those deaths?

Suicide has come up a couple of times here and I’ve never seriously entertained it. She had plans with PR to buy a place in Belize. They were suppose to be there til May. They weren’t there very long when she disappeared. To me, those are indicators she was still planning life. Having had a suicide in my family, I know that doesn’t mean much. I just don’t see Alison going all the way to Belize, to that particular island to commit suicide. IMO

Being suicidal does not stop life. You continue living, you never give up until you do. If she were having suicidal thoughts it would not necessarily change her daily life or future plans, it would simply be a decision made in the moment, without further thought. Suicidal people still love people, and life, they just get to a point where the many years of contemplation happens.

Pretty much, that’s what I said. And then there is the part where I said I had a suicide in the family so I know it didn’t mean much that she had plans.

I just can’t help wondering how it is that she was escorted back to her tent in the wee hours and coincidentally was also missing by the next morning. Just seems so coincidental and such.

I imagine there might have been witnesses to the captain escorting her back to her tent. Someone may have heard them speaking, or saw a flashlight guiding the way. He has nothing to gain by admitting to being the last person to see her.

If I were to write a mystery story out of this, I would have her body found in the sand directly under her tent, but this is not a mystery story. It's a sad tragedy that isn't making any sense.

My husband had the same thought....buried in the sand. My only thought to that not being is would be on HOW was she killed. Silent OD, maybe they would bury her. Someone killing her, too small of an island IMO that someone could do that and nothing would be heard. I would think the island would be checked with a fine tooth comb, but IMO it would be way easier to hide a sand burial than a dirt one. This is still a possibility to me though. Bury her and wait for everyone to leave then go back to put her out to sea????

It would take quite a bit of effort to dig a grave and then bury the body all in the dark. I don't see it being plausible.

In a coconut shell:
American involved in or stumbled upon drug cartel movement. That’s why FBI asked to join search per police, and they welcomed the assistance. Put together with posts that have been scrubbed, as in boyfriend reviews with 24 hr assault rifle guards, replies missing, spinning stories, guides leave at night against treacherous currents, then reports that they stay, it’s a fluid story depending on need.
Belize retirement ads? Nope. I’ll hang out here. Same drugs, same problems but at least they are in English. I know where NOT to go on a moonlit night. Outside in unfamiliar surroundings. Sad state. Like I said, not victim bashing, but ‘ja know? Be careful.
I visited Belize on a shore excursion while on a cruise and vowed never to return. Way too dangerous.

I did think about this, I was wondering under the dock or under one of the buildings or something.

Wondering about toilets..like how would they have a sewer system there? I'm guessing they don't?

I think it's mostly likely an accident, and she ended up in the water. But these thoughts did cross my mind.

I disagree. We are at the lake every weekend with a sandy beach and the kids can dig a hole in no time at all. I'm more thinking one of the "crew" would have done something to her versus another traveler. I'm assuming the crew has flash lights, etc.

The problem I’m having with her just floating out to sea is that I feel like her body would have been found after the aerial searches. But it’s certainly possible she’s just lost at sea- and I’d say it’s even likely what happened (despite my shock that her body wouldn’t have already turned up).

As for if she’s buried in the sand- I do think it’s possible she could have been killed silently. COD could be quickly and forcefully strangled, or hit in the head with a hard object. Those are the 2 main ones that come to my mind.
