Found Deceased SD - Alicia Hummel, 29, found near boat ramp, Myron Grove / Meckling, 1 Jun 2015

Outside of a watch and wait predator situation (which of course is a possibility)....

Could it be possible the “others” at Myron Grove were doing something and may have been afraid she captured them or whatever they were doing on her phone (affair, drug deals, etc.). It sounds like her last photos were very near to the time of her death.

Others there but they haven’t came forward:
Alicia’s messages revealed that there were others at the river access the day she was murdered, but that is something Clay County Sheriff Andy Howe doesn’t find unusual. What he finds unusual is the silence surrounding those that may have been there.

Not one person has come forward to us to tell us they were there,” Howe said.

Four years later, Sioux City woman's unsolved murder still haunts her family, friends

Authorities are still seeking information about a dark-colored sedan with tinted windows and a loud exhaust system seen in the area around the time Alicia went missing.

Weapon not found:
An autopsy showed she died of drowning in the Missouri after receiving blunt force trauma to her head and an incised wound on her neck. Howe said that any murder weapon was never found.

Signs of Struggle:
At the funeral, A— A— remembered the high collar Alicia was dressed in and the long sleeves that covered up the bruising on her hands and arms. She believes Alicia fought back that day at Myron Grove, a thought that haunts her to this day.

Alicia’s cell phone has never been recovered.

The last pictures Alicia Hummel took of herself were moments before her murder.
Alicia Hummel: Unsolved murder haunts Clay County Sheriff's Office

DNA:
Lab analysis of evidence collected at the scene has been completed, but Howe said he can't comment on what it revealed because the case is ongoing. In addition to the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, Howe's office has gotten help from the FBI with profiling DNA evidence and compiling psychological profiles.
One year after Hummel's death, friends, police still seek answers

Dear @Tiff23fr,

Thank you for setting out the information in this very sad and tragic case.

From reading everything, it's evident that Alicia Hummel was such a beautiful soul.

It's so good to hear that the F.B.I. worked on this case, "with profiling DNA evidence and compiling psychological profiles". (as per the quote in your post). Perhaps the perpetrator left a "signature". It would be interesting to read the psychological profile.

I hope for the sake of her family and friends (especially her best friend) that this case is solved soon. My heart goes out to them.

There is always hope.
