I watched the (first) 48 Hours episode again but didn't catch any mention of a specific monetary amt agreed upon between Gilbert/Pak/Brewer, although I too think Pak did mention it somewhere/sometime.

And, reading JustK's post...



I remembered that early on (when I first became intrigued by this case) I was convinced these phone records held vital clues. And guess what, I still feel the same now! Where are these records?? Do you think LE is REALLY doing anything towards solving this case? Anything at all?? (How about a poll?) I very seriously doubt it. Sometimes frustration gets the better of me... this is one of those times. :banghead:

Even if the effort is there, they may still be restricted by their abilities. I haven't heard very good things about SCPD detectives unfortunately. The old timers say they just arent as good as they once were. Maybe its cultural, maybe their swollen salaries have them sedated with creature comforts, I don't know. The least they could do is outsource the project to the feds and admit they are out of their league, or give some young motivated capable detective the chance to win it for SCPD. This criminal needs a real adversary to take him down and it's apparant the regular detectives aren't getting the job done.

That piece has some inaccuracies, I don't know if the reporter got it wrong or Pak's story sucks. I know Pak told another (good) reporter that he was parked outside the house, inside the gated community, which contradicts this article.

Thanks anyway, I still think I remember reading or hearing that JB offered $450 for 2 hours. If SG's standard price was $250 an hour it seems plausible that $450 for 2 hours would be acceptable. I wonder because these rates are not rock solid standards and if the burn fone perp and JB both offered $450 for 2 hours it would increase the chances (for me) that there is some type of organization and that the cases are related.

Everyone wants to rule out JB but there is no evidence that he isn't a part of a group of men who engage in "group" activities with prostitutes...even if he is merely a party facilitator. For all we know, it is either him or someone like him who gains the women's initial trust. He could easily know some of the members of LIErotica,

The big money offer that ALC got might have been because it was a group event. If each participant paid $250 then that would be six Johns. I keep thinking of that word I looked up on the Urban Dictionary...where a group of men does a group deposit on the woman. It's so disgusting, I won't repeat the word.

I think Thursday, Sept 2 being the beginning of a holiday weekend tells us more. Earl weakened quickly that day and by that Thursday night, Sept 2nd, reports already had been out that it was being downgraded to cat 1 on friday (rain).

Being the start of labor day weekend is interesting though, if you haev kids in college this is likely the weekend they head back, maybe the wife drives the kid back up to school so your whole weekend is free? He may want to catch his prey early (starts making those calls minutes after the wife pulls out of the driveway) so he has the long weekend to play his games....

Perhaps he had the run of the place three months earlier as well, sometime around the end of spring semester or final exams. or did he just wait till the wife was fast asleep and slipped out that saturday night around 1:30am.

seriously though I've always thought there's a clue there somewhere with the Thursday hookup with the other three being on the weekend. If he's married and using the family home to carry out his deeds the wife would need to be away for a time in the summer months, almost like an annual conference or meeting. alternativly he could have a seperate residence or property somewhere he could be using, say like Manorville. I've no thoughts as to his marital status however, could be either-or. It also raises some questions about its employment status around this time, he obviously wasn't too beat to go out trolling for victims at this time of night on a weekday.

Whether it is related or not, remember also that DS said that Amber had once been roughed up and left by the side of one of the Highways. IIRC, that event occurred sometime in the three months before she was ultimately abducted and murdered.

Would be interesting to see how closely that episode coincides with that of the LIerotica "bat" incident and the comment by Morrie. Did the members "friend" catch up with her and deliver a message?.

Here is something to think about in that regard: MW goes missing in June 2010 about three months before ALC is killed. We assume that the attack on ALC occurred sometime after the baseball bat and a few months before she turned up missing. Maybe MT was the guy who had to run out of her house naked or he helped the crew, on behalf of another member, to send ALC a message. In turn, maybe ALC used some of her Brooklyn drug connections to draw MT out for a supposed date. He and his pitbull disappeared. All SUPPOSITION/ Possible THEORY.

Or maybe he has nothing to do with ALC or the CCC but maybe he messed with MW and AC and his shady crew took MT out.

There are a lot of "crews" involved in these women's lives, it seems.

back in feb an another site, i threw out the idea of discussion of it being a college kid based on the dates--summer vac and holidys, and ALC being the last possible time in Spet to leave to go to/arrive on campus/off campus housing, because as a senior, you aren't required to report until the last minute or even the week of classes starting--and i had someone in mind that matched that scenario--out of bounds to sleuth him, but nonetheless

CriminalMinds, do you realize how huge that would be if Joseph Brewer was part of the CCC? That would directly tie Shannan to Amber via Morrie and the CCC. That would cause me to completely rethink this case, and the possibility that Shannan's death wasn't accidental.

Please let me know ASAP where you heard the rumor that JB referenced the CCC when he was talking to escorts/strippers. In all of my research, I never saw anything like that with respect to JB.

VS says that JB was very private and didn't have dealings with women when it involved other men. JB did however offer to hire escorts for both he and "the drifter" but that he "the drifter" declined. He knows that JB dealt with escorts on CL and in strip clubs but he (the drifter) isn't aware of any ccc crew or other site JB frequented online. That's all folks ; )
