Agree totally mickey. The increase in questionable on-duty and off-duty officer involved shootings has been concerning to me of course but always a comfortable distance away. This one is in my backyard. I am extremely familiar with that area. I used to live very close to that Costco, it is...
SABBM I agree but I worry that without a very serious charge that he can go after custody of the children in court, it appears that he was getting more access to the kids little by little already. Normally the default is to get children back with thier parents.
The one about the Police Protective League? Crazy. There it is in black and white. Wow.
I cannot find a link to it right now but from what I read it looked to me as if LAPD is or was investigating the shooting as an "Officer involved shooting" which says to me same as on-duty.
I saw...
But this guy was not on duty, does he still get "on duty officer" status under the law? He shouldn't. It looks to me like it may be a case by case basis.
Legal Authority of Off-Duty Cops
"But the Ninth Circuit, however, recently ruled that off-duty police officers working private security jobs...
There will probably have to be yet another police involved shooting "#ReleaseTheVideo" campaign for the public to ever see the truth. Not that it will matter. I think all we have to do is look at history and evidence to see that policemen are a special class of citizens and as such will be...
A cooler head without a gun would, after getting kocked down by a person with mental issues, say wtf and then get up and listen irritatedly while the Dad appologized and explained. A hothead without a gun would get up, ignore the explanations and shove back. A hothead with a gun.....I think we...
Costco shooting: Man killed after an alleged argument and attack on an off-duty officer was nonverbal, cousin says - CNN
"Corona police Lt. Jeff Edwards told reporters just after the incident that police believe the shooting resulted from an argument.
"From my understanding, from some people we...
Agreed. And one thing that bothers me is that there are multiple people saying there was an argument. That the father was explaining the younger French's issues. If the younger French was non verbal it could not have been him argueing. Was the off-duty cop arguing so agressively with the Dad...
Exactly what I thought about most of the articles only biased mostly one way. They use the off-duty cops version as gospel truth. No qualifier like "alledgedly" (sp?)
I would'nt be surprised if he can have visitation again because he is not convicted of anything yet and you know "innocent until proven guilty" Hopefully if that is the cas it will still be monitored and the case would not be permitted to discuss with the children.
Thanks for that information Nccs_local. Amidst this horror it is nice to know that the kids can finish thier school year at least in some form or fashion and get emotional support from thier teachers and classmates. Small comfort but some.
What do you think the chances are that this horrific case that has now found its way onto the world stage will shed some light onto the way this family court has been operating and that things will change?
There was a new guy on here going on and on about a third party love interest as motivation and his account is deleted already. I felt he was deflecting attention. Does "deleted" indicate running afoul of TOS?
Sorry I misread your previous post. I thought that when you said thank goodness he didn't have the same disinterest in the baby that you meant she was disinterested not "the same disinterest as his disinterest in KB" My bad.
