It might be because he was based out of Dusseldorf for his flight schedules. It's not uncommon for flight crew to share apts with a few others and then go "home" (to parents house) when he was not scheduled to fly.

This flight was a daytime flight. I've flown over the alps from Rome to Munich back in 1996 and it was a magnificent sight out the window. Sadly I don't think these passengers were oblivious until the last moments as any glimpse out the window would show something was very wrong.

I think this report may be wrong. Nicole names someone else in Lansdale as her "parent" I believe Patricia Hill is her grand mother. Also Nicole was killed at the location in Harleysville (Lower Salford) not in Lansdale. Harleysville is where he was seen by the neighbors taking the 2 children...

I have a friend who lives in the first victims apt. complex. apparently the first victim was his (ex) wife then he went to another location and killed her mother....... took his kids from the first crime scene but they have been found safe. oy vey.
