Kidnapping maybe... but potentially a charge for interfering with lawful custody? It's usually much broader and includes *any* adult knowingly harboring a runaway or otherwise missing minor against their parents will. No coercion, force or literal "taking" required. Imo ofc.

I would assume that's in cases of older children (teens) hurting vulnerable adults (ie the elderly or disabled). Or if a child participates in abuse alongside an enabling adult. I live in Cleveland and I'm struggling to wrap my head around all of this. The violence here doesn't faze me but...

Given how late at night it was I don't think it would have been possible for the homeowner to know the child's race. Unless he could see through a ring camera or the like - which would be more incriminating if he could clearly see a child and then still did what he did. Edit: profanity, sorry

My guess would be that the trash bags are newer, the contents possibly 24 years old. That or they want dna from something inside? Or more of a longshot, the trash bag was stored in the vehicle previously. I find a 24yo trash bag far fetched too, but panic disposal of evidence might not be. Moo
