This thread on Sharon was started in 2020, two years before her death. There was much discussion in posts on her as a missing person prior to the tip regarding her location and 2022 death, which resolved the case.

Bumping this thread up. Coffey incarcerated in North Carolina, but is considered for parole periodically.

2026 will mark the 40 year anniversary of the supposed beginning of the Colonial Parkway Murders. It is possible that earlier cases could also be connected.

Any resolution in this murder case? All previous posts indicate an arrest. Was there a trial? An extremely violent murder with 120 stab wounds, an eyewitness - and it took almost 60 years to solve?

It is difficult to draw solid conclusions based on simply the number of shots. While the fact that Audrey was shot 5 times with the others one or two times might indicate that the perpetrator was more focused on her, it could mean also that he was a poor shot or that she fought back more, or...

Possibly. There could be other similar cases as well. Clearly this was an attack of opportunity on a child by a pervert or pedophile. This murder was not an isolated or "one off" incident. The perpetrator had probably murdered both before and after killing little Stevie.
