BBM I think they have an excellent chance of winning. The SCA that changed the verdict to murder didn't envision a sentence of 6 years instead of 5 years. He can get out in 2 years. It's beyond ridiculous!

Thanks for posting this. It's an outstanding article. I hope the prosecution will appeal that ridiculous sentence!

I have been speechless all day..Masipa ruined my day! Sentencing OP to 6 years is an insult to Reeva's family..to all women..to the SCA..to all of us. She has no shame!

Hi there..I thought it was over as he lost his appeal. Are you saying that he will appeal his sentence? If so..then his defense can do that while he's in jail. I don't get it. A convicted murderer would stay out of prison to appeal his sentence?! That makes no sense to me. It's outrageous..

That's precisely the excuse he used to claim that he was not committing a crime..in other words..he didn't break the law..in other words..his actions were lawful---> he didn't think due to severe panic! However, we all know that he did think when he gave his reason for not firing a warning shot...

OMG! People can sometimes pay more for traffic violations!!! You would think we all were watching a satirical court show!

BBM Exactly! Why should he? He has already been convicted of murder. IMO, the bail system is designed/based on this concept ---> Innocent until proven guilty. However, if there is a potential of flight..a bail would still be denied. So in OP case..he was already found guilty of murder which...

BBM Sorry..that's not a valid analogy! A "truck" is a used to drive..vs. a "loaded gun" which is used to harm/injure/kill someone. When the drunk person is driving his truck his intention is to get from one location to another...he was not driving a truck to kill. On the other hand..when OP...

And you don't even try to find out if your partner is the one possibly causing the noise? You just jump to conclusion that an intruder was using the bathroom/toilet?

BBM I agree..I also believe that during the gap between the two sets of sounds..he was thinking of a story to tell. There is no question in my mind that he murdered Reeva..

BBM I think she let her bias influence her judgment! She was probably an OP's fan..I believe she had great admiration for his athletic achievements despite his handicap!

BBM Yes in movies, or in B movies, so the horror story/events can go on! In real life people would wake their loved ones up not just to ask them if they heard a noise but to make sure they are on their guard in case there were intruders..they also call the police before taking any action.
