"It all began when Mr Griffor heard a loud banging on the front door and went to investigate, but as he reached for the lock there was a blast, reported WCBD. He told all the children to get under the bed.
"I went to the room to tell the kids and wife “we’re safe” and turned on the light to find our daughter would not respond,’ he told WCBD. ‘My wife turned her and she was laying in a pool of blood.
"The bullets had went through the door, through the wall, shooting her in the head as she lay sleeping in her safe bed… I was injured in the incident, but our daughter was critically injured."

Since October, Richard Douglas has served as the voice for the Griffors, a family who fell victim to violence when someone fired shots inside their Charleston home. William Griffor was struck in the arm; however, his injuries were not life threatening. His daughter, Allison, died three days later.
After the shooting, the Griffors left South Carolina. Their new location is unknown at this time. "They do wish to keep that private. They are in fear of their lives," said Douglas.
As for if they'll ever return to the Lowcountry, Douglas says that likely won't happen at least anytime soon. "Knowing that their child's killer is on the loose in the area, they're just too scared to come here".
"Their whole life has been turned upside down, they don't know what the next step is, where to go, what to do."
This real-life nightmare has also taken its toll on Allison's older brother.
"He just started finally going to the bathroom on his own. He wouldn't go to the bathroom by himself. He still won't sleep in his bed."
