Cold case detectives are reopening an investigation into the so-called Red Shoe Murder of a four-year-old girl in 1946 after the victim's cousin penned a book about the killing.
The body of little Norma Dale was found dumped on wasteland near her home in York 70 yeas ago.
It became known as the Red Shoe Murder because the little girl was missing one of her shoes. More than 1,000 people were interviewed but no one was ever arrested.
But North Yorkshire Police have now announced a cold case review following the 70th Anniversary of the murder in York.
