Found Deceased CA - Brayan Rodriguez, 20, Valencia, 22 Sept 2017 Arrest

Brayan Rodriguez, 20, was reported missing by family members on Friday afternoon after being last seen on Via Valer in Valencia.

Rodriguez was last seen by his boyfriend of three and a half months, Christian Ortiz, 21, who said that Rodriguez had stormed off after Ortiz made a joke about transgenderism that he took offense to.

When asked where he was going, Rodriguez said he was going to a friends house, according to Ortiz.

Rodriguez has not been seen or heard from since.

Just a few blocks away from his last known location, Rodriguezs cell phone was found in a trash can at Valencia Meadows Park which has now become the ground zero of his search.

This is just completely out of his character, said Ortiz. I dont know why he would do this. He definitely wouldnt ignore his family, thats the big issue, said Ortiz.

Rodriguez was set to check in at the University of California San Diego on Saturday, but failed to do so.

We have people in San Diego looking, weve been in contact with his roommates and its not that he had cold feet. He was already there for the summer session. said Ocasek.

Was watching the 11 oclock news and they reported a body was found in a home earlier this afternoon. No police confirmation but article states FB page reporting it was Brayan. RIP

this article says the location he was found in made them think the death was suspicious.. I think that may have something to do with not being able to see his face. Did he suffocate him by sticking his head in something?

Saturday night - authorities are called to the home about a person not breathing
Sunday 4:00 pm - Brayan is reported as having died by strangulation
Monday 3:00 am - Christian Ortiz is taken into custody on suspicion of murder

I wonder if Brayan went back home and they either got into other fights, or maybe even were just being kinky... either way this is so sad.

Sheriffs Deputy Guillermina Saldana says authorities responded Sunday to reports of a man not breathing at a home in Santa Clarita. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Saldana says investigators believe the victim was strangled.

Detectives arrested Christian Ortiz and held him in lieu of $1 million bail. It wasnt immediately known if he has an attorney.

One of these stories has the dates wrong. One leads us to surmise they were called for someone not breathing on Saturday night, the other leads us to think that call was made Sunday afternoon. It makes more sense that the call was made Sunday shortly before he was pronounced dead, but I feel like the below article intends for us to conclude Saturday. Depending on which one is true, a different picture is painted about what may have been going on. Thoughts?

Ortiz is charged with killing Brayan Brian Rodriguez., 20, on Sept. 22. The victims body was discovered two days later in the defendants closet.

If convicted as charged, Ortiz faces a possible maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison. Bail is set at $2 million.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department.

I am surprised it took TWO DAYS to find the body in the boyfriends closet. I would have thought they were able to search the apt on the 1st day. Guess not.
