According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Audrii Cunningham was last seen at about 7 a.m. on Feb. 15 in the 100 block of Lakeside Drive in Polk County.

Authorities urge anyone who may have seen Audrii to contact the Polk County Sheriff's Office at 936-327-6810.

It's been linked before. A search of this thread, using term grandmother, indicates that Audrii's mom Cassie Matthews said that Audrii lived with her grandmother, her father, and the man who allegedly dropped Audrii off at the bus stop.

Another thread search for the term custody doesn't turn up any links to a formal custody situation. There is discussion re custody, but perhaps people have assumed this given that Audrii lives with dad and grandmother.

Mcdougal seems to have been really good at manipulation. Maybe a learned skill - over a lifetime, when he seemingly was never incarcerated long/if at all for his crimes. In most of the cases, it looks like he was able to make plea deals. That alone speaks volumes, he "Ain't Scared" of facing consequences because there really were none.

The picture with her Father, I have no words. But do wonder what event this was taken at and when?

Also, my .02 is that life without parole in gen pop might be the best sentence.
It's the least we can do as a society to mete out consequences to monsters who harm children.
So sad as this was (imo) preventable.
Audrii should be looking forward to Easter egg hunts, and summer, & being out of school.
Chasing after butterflies and playing with her lego sets.

In the complaint, a sheriff’s deputy said they have evidence that “McDougal lied about his whereabouts and activities on the day of February 15, 2024.”

The court document says a large rock was found tied around Audrii’s body when her remains were discovered. “The rope used was consistent with rope that was observed in McDougal’s vehicle on a traffic stop two days prior,” the complaint states.

Lyons said her body was discovered by scuba divers in the Trinity River under US Highway 59. The water levels were adjusted for "areas of interest" to be searched.
