<snipped> An email the Orlando Sentinel obtained from Assistant County Attorney Peter A. Lichtman didn't provide more details, either.
"Roy Kronk was scheduled to attend a pre-determination hearing yesterday to address issues pertaining to his employment with the County. He failed to show for the hearing, and a decision has been issued terminating his employment effective immediately," the county wrote Kronk's lawyer. "Therefore, the County shall not pay any legal fees associated with representing Mr. Kronk that are incurred from this point forward."
Evans, who pledged to continue representing Kronk without regard for payment, wrote that his client "is evaluating his legal options relating to his termination."

"This dispute arose because Mr. Kronk's management directed him to resume work duties after his injury, and Mr. Kronk and his health care providers did not consider it to be safe or medically appropriate to resume those duties at this time," Evans said.
Kronk is evaluating his legal options, Evans said.

Casey Anthony: Saga becomes a play called 'Tot Mom'

<snipped> Yes, the man who won an Oscar for "Traffic" and whose credits include "sex, lies and videotape," "Erin Brockovich," "Ocean's Eleven" and its sequels, and "The Informant!" Soderbergh also likes to take on risky projects, such as the film "Che!" and the HBO series "K Street."
Soderbergh is described as the play's creator and director. He evidently based the play on public record: court documents, police reports and excerpts from Nancy Grace's show. By going that route, a playwright wouldn't have to compensate anyone for the material.

<snipped> Did Roy Kronk's firing have anything to do with the Casey Anthony case?
"In a roundabout way, yes," WESH's Bob Kealing said. "David Evans, his attorney, says Kronk sustained a workplace injury from the job he took to avoid the unwanted notoriety that the Anthony case brought him."
The injury? A neck and shoulder one he suffered while working at a warehouse job for Orange County, and doctors say he shouldn't return to work, Evans told WESH.

<snipped> New proof that the saga of Caylee and Casey Anthony is a worldwide phenomenon: The crime story is becoming a play Down Under.
"Tot Mom," created and directed by Oscar-winner Steven Soderbergh, will be staged from Dec. 18 to Jan. 31 by the Sydney Theatre Company.
Last month, Soderbergh talked to the Sentinel about "The Informant!" in which Matt Damon plays a corporate whistle-blower who often bends the truth.
“I’m fascinated by lying,” Soderbergh said. “If you walk around all day every day, telling the truth about every situation you encountered, to everyone you encountered, someone will eventually kill you. It’s just a matter of where the line is for you in lying.”
