Casey’s Defense Questions Death Penalty In Florida
Saturday, November 28, 2009 9:03:07 AM
<snipped>
Just before court closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, Casey Anthony’s lawyers filed 10 new motions.

The motions involve constitutional issues Casey's defense team thinks will have an impact on her trial.

They also want certain jury instructions deemed unconstitutional.

Judge Karen: This Turkey is no Expert
November 26th, 2009
<snipped>
You see, I received a lot of heat for my criticism of he who I shall not mention by name anymore, but I was most surprised by the opinions of other experts used to prove I was wrong. And when pressed, the only other expert they referred to was none other than “Judge” Karen Mills-Francis.

So the next time a lawyer offers their opinion to you as an authority on a specific matter, please don’t assume they are actually an authority on anything but providing sound bites.

Caylee Anthony searcher says body was not where it was found
November 28, 2:02 PM
<snipped>
Jose Baez, Casey's lawyer, claims they have a sworn statement by Laura Buchanan who was a volunteer with a company called Texas Equusearch that specializes in organizing searches, that confirms she searched the area prior to the discovery of Caylee's remains.

It must be noted that searches, even by professionals, are not foolproof. In the recent high profile case of missing 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten, searchers combed a wooded area for her remains and came up with nothing. Cops say her accused killer Alyssa Bustamante later led authorities to her remains, which were found in the same wooded area that was searched.
