2011.05.28 Cindy Anthony testimony

I only have sons (grown) but I can imagine that if I had a girl with a child I would expect her to help more with housekeeping, cooking, taking care of her own child. Might not be fair, but I can see that happening.

Plus Problem Child always gets it harder and why not? Lee was probably alot more responsible.

Other things I noticed today:

Why was CA staring down alot. Almost looked like she was reading answers at times?

I look forward to seeing LA on the stand. To see if he has the same drama chops as the rest of the fam. I beleive that there is alot of pain, grief and conflict in the heads of this family and understand. But, I can't get past this feeling that they are all trying to hard.

GA-trying too hard to be the old cop instead of the witness on the stand.

CA-with long drawn out stories and drama on stand. One point IMO she was trying to hard to sell labored breathing and slightly rocking. Also, the picture thing. Are you telling me they don't have Caylee all over the house?

ICA- That pouting face like a 5 yr old. I believe it was when the judge was talking to the jury, she was relaxed and smiling and talking. I actually had the thought, "There is the pretty girl from the Hot Body Photos." That pouty bottom jaw out look isn't flattering at all.

But couldn't he find another psych that met his criteria? He has to have some specialist hold up his theory.

I agree, the defense will need to find someone to corroborate the abuse claim. But I'm not familiar enough with the law. Perhaps they are only allowed one evaluation? Or maybe if they use one set of findings, they have to share the other (less favorable one)? It's the first I've ever heard of the defense having their client's psych evaluation sealed. IMO it's quite odd. (But perhaps I completely misunderstood the commentary concerning this issue.)

What just made my heart hurt was how many times CA was asked "And did you see Caylee & Casey that day/that night?" and she answered "No", leading to the next question "And why was that?". Then CA had to repeat the lies ICA told her when we all know the answer was "Because Caylee was already dead". And then all the talk about Zanny, like she was a real person - I just felt so sorry for CA. Imagine having to sit there & tell everyone how gullible she was, believing every story ICA spun for her....
Congratulations, Snarky237!

My ex was a sociopath who could have you believing the grass was blue and the sky was green. You get so used to hearing nothing but lies and caught up in the story of the moment that your mind totally goes along with them. On the rare occasions you say "Wait a minute! That doesn't make any sense!" they convince you that they never said it, or that wasn't what they meant, or you heard it wrong, or you're crazy. I totally understand how Cindy could believe her after years of this. It takes a long time and a distance away from them before you finally start to see what happened to you because you love them and trust them and WANT to believe them. You simply cannot get off this "carousel of confusion" no matter what your logical brain is telling you. You have to physically get away from them for a while before you can start putting all the pieces of the puzzle together and realizing what they did to you. It's very much like the snake in The Jungle Book (Kaa?) who's eyes went around and around and hypnotized the others - that's exactly the way you feel. To this day I can't believe I fell for some of the carp he dished out - I am the most logical and analytical person I know, but you are helpless when caught in a sociopaths web. All you can do is get away from them.
I'm so glad you got away, Shadow 5618. What you expressed is so true and to the point. Nothing is as crazy as crazy. Stay safe.

i hope and pray to god cindy will be able to handle jb badgering her .. im really worried about that after watching her testimony .. i hope it wont give her a heart attack she looks so tired and broken now .. i hope she wont break on the stand . prayers go out to you cindy keep fighting the good fight .. justice for your beloved caylee .. you cant help casey now she did this to herself and its not your fault ..

When asked about redoing the patio, Cindy said something that seems strange to me.."we haven't been able to grow grass back there since 2008"..talking about the back yard. Am I the only one that finds this strange?

I wondered about that, too. :waitasec:

Everyone is so focused on the myspace posting. Honestly that was never going to come in. It is an editorial or opinion piece by a witness so it carries no evidentiary value in and of itself, and the witness can be questioned to give the same information.

I think that Cindy did give one of the most damning bits of testimony today. It was subtle but when she talked about sleeping with Caylee's teddy bear, and then when it disappeared after she told KC about it. It is an extremely powerful image. In one simple statement the jury saw everything they need to know about the dynamic between KC, CA and Caylee. In a simple sentence it became clear that KC deliberately intended to deny Caylee to CA. It was an act of erasure. And this goes to the heart of 1st degree murder. The removal of the bear shows an act of intentional and specific petty follow up to Caylee's disapearence. In short it shows premeditation and puts the DP on the table in an extremely powerful and unexpected way.

Respectfully BBM Thanks for pointing this out. I missed the live testimony of the trial today, and somehow missed this as I watched it online. I'll look again for it.

Cindy's testimony was just heartbreaking. When Cindy asked HHJP to take down the picture of Caylee because she cries when she sees her picture I cried, yet again, and ICA either had her cold, stony glare or tried to mimic grief. I'm alarmed at the depth of my hatred for Casey. I try not to hate anyone, who am I to judge? I try to strive for understanding, empathy...I'm at a loss...I don't like what I'm seeing in me.

Cindy's statement that she looked for Zanny until 6 weeks ago was chilling. What is in that psych report? What made Casey, Casey??

I hope so too, when LDB asked Cindy when she stopped looking for Zanny & Cindy said 'Six weeks ago," Cindy was shaking and she looked like she was gonna break, I felt so bad for her.

Cindy said that she didn't stop looking for Zanny until 6 weeks ago, today in her testimony? I guess I missed that statement. But I thought the psych report was sealed?

That was very early in her testimony on Sat.

Cindy and George found out 6 weeks ago, I believe from the prosecution, that JB was going to claim Caylee died accidentally with George and Casey home.

This tells Cindy that Casey has known that Caylee was dead all this time, letting her mother and father hold out hope (at least until her remains were found) that she would be found alive.

It is sealed. But there was some legal aspect that allowed the Ants attorney to read the file. I'm sorry but I can't recall why. Although it made perfect sense when I read the legal reasoning. I'd do a search for it but I've been up for 23 hours now and my eyes are going wonky. I think it's time for bed.

Nite all!

I've never heard that they were able to read the file.

But if they did get to read it, they must be really upset.

Does anyone know if there was/is a side or any door from inside the garage to either the side yard (near the shed that blocks the gate on the right front side of the house) or to the back yard itself?

It seems that if Casey killed Caylee or Caylee accidentally died in the car/trunk, if there is no door, from inside the garage to either the fenced in side or backyard, then Casey would have had to carry the little lifeless Caylee through the house and out one of the sliding glass doors to try to initially bury her in the yard. If Caylee drowned in the pool, the same would have had to occur in reverse and Casey would have to have carried Caylee, presumably wet, through the interior of the house.

One has to wonder where Caylee lay while being taped up, wrapped in the blanket, double or triple bagged and then the duck tape sealed with the heart sticker. And, when was all of this done. It had to take quite a bit of time.

Were there any other days in those 8 days, between June 16th and the 24th, other than the 16th when no one was home for long periods of time at the Anthony home?

Also, keeping in mind that the Anthonys all seem to be cursed by OCD, it is very interesting to remember that Casey was adamant, with, iirc, 911 and anyone who was listening, that Caylee was missing for exactly 31 Days. It seems significant that she even corrected someone who rounded it off to a month or something like that. Because of the obvious OCD behavior that she displays and her need to control, she can't help but to be specific as to saying "31 DAYS." Given her OCD, it seems there was no way that she could just say "a month."

Because of that it surely seems that the DT is telling the truth about one thing: Caylee died June 16, 2008, after Casey asked if Caylee could stay with her mom and CA says, today, that she (CA) said that it wasn't a good day for her to have Caylee.

Then, apparently, Casey does whatever it is she is going to do with Caylee and goes to Blockbuster with TL where they rent two movies, stay at his house alone and the following day he "plays hookie"... he says with Casey.

What day did the text message, that Judge disallowed portions of into evidence, where she says in few or couple of days (can't remember exact words) that they can engage in his "desired request" anytime they want to?

It seems this goes to premeditation.

I think that the Prosecution believes it does also. Without listening to TLs testimony again, I believe the text was around June 13, just a few days before the 16th.

After listening to Cindy's testimony, it's striking me as amazing at the depth and length of the lies that ICA told. These weren't simple lies. These were intertwined stories of epic proportions that were built and built upon each other. It is really astounding. Taken one at a time they are not too impressive but when you hear them one right after the other after the other you get a sense of just how warped ICA was. It is unfortunate that the Anthony's bought it hook, line and sinker.

JMHO as always.

But because of the depth of those "stories" one can see why people believed her. And, because it appears as if she compartmentalized her groups of family and friends it was difficult and rare that she would be caught in those lies. When she was, the relationships appear to have ended thus keeping the current relations from hearing the truth.

I was thinking the same thing. I do not believe there are any side doors. But I was focusing on Caylee dying in the house, maybe had been given chloroform in preparation for ICA's date night with TL and died instead of slept as usual. ICA panicked, had to put duct tape over mouth and nose in case she wasn't dead and woke up. Then ICA temporarily left the baby concealed in the yard (in the sandbox? as Panthera speculated) and near where the cadaver dogs had a hit, went on her date and came back the day she borrowed the shovel to retrieve her.

I've also wondered if ICA lost her cool that afternoon. I can just picture her in a tantrum continually calling her parents to babysit, then after CA says no, she looks at Caylee with hatred, thinking she is NOT going to let this little girl stand in the way of her relationship with TL. Maybe she lost her cool with Caylee (described as a handful- who was more verbal and mobile) and gave her a lethal dose of chloroform that time. Sickening.

As I typed all of that, I wondered if she was prepared in that playhouse...if any or part of this horrible set of deeds actually occurred inside the actual playhouse. Then I wondered if Caylee had stickers in there?

It is chilling to see the quick recovery of Casey from rage to stoic calm. One can almost see her raging on someone and then getting ready for a date night with TL.
