This is an interesting article on the possibility of new hurricanes including some info on La Niña.

People in the affected areas, which include the popular resort town of Puerto Vallarta and other coastal towns in Jalisco, Nayarit and Sinaloa, were urged to complete hurricane preparations because of strong winds. The hurricane is expected to make landfall on Sunday morning.
How incredible! Thankfully it won’t pose a threat to land.I swear, whoever made Mother Nature mad, needs to quit already!!!

The 2022 Atlantic hurricane season produced 14 named storms, eight of which were hurricanes, and two of which were major hurricanes.

Yes, I saw that with Irma, folks lost everything, and at 80 years old, few people had resources to start over. The lucky ones had family to live with.Sadly, this is not uncommon after a hurricane. There should never be homes in flood zones to begin with. A decade from now there still won't be resolution for the poor and elderly. They'll have moved away or passed away. Homeowners insurance in a flood zone is nearly impossible to afford, even if you can find it.
