My understanding is they collected DNA after both arrived back in PA. The airplane that transported BCK to Idaho had made an earlier trip from PA to Moscow/Pullman regional airport. MOO This was to transport DNA evidence. The genetic link was the “pivitol” evidence for issuing arrest warrant MOO.
Thanks, here's the article below linked.

First the DNA on the sheath was found to be related to a family tree already.

They collected garbage after both were in PA. The father's DNA was found on garbage. It showed him to be the father of the male DNA on the sheath. BK was arrested the next day.

My Dad(we living in NJ and NY) always had a Snow shovel in the trunk of the car.
I learnt so much about shovels and their significance to Am people reading this thread! :)

On December 27, 2022, Pennsylvania Agents recovered the trash from the Kohberger family residence located in Albrightsville, PA. That evidence was sent to the Idaho State Lab for testing. On December 28,2022, the Idaho State Lab reported that a DNA profile obtained ftom the trash and the DNA profile obtained from the sheath, identified a male as not being excluded as the bioiogical father of Suspect Profile. At least 99.9998% of the male population would be expected to be excluded from the possibility of being the suspect's biological father.

thanks for the dates Nila, beleived that was what I recalled. Didn’t they arrive back in PA December16th?

lol. I know some who have folding snow shovels they carry in their car as well, in case they get stuck in the snow and have to try and shovel out. Handy if you are at work when it snows, and you get stuck in the Parking Lot at end of day, I think.

Anyone know how tall Bryan Kohlberger is? I can’t find this information anywhere. He looks tall but I want to know factually what his height is?

I am fully persuaded of the exact same interpretation since the items were from the house not the car. Now, if we could get every single other person on this forum round to the same point of view and stop talking about curls of hair or cards hidden inside hand gloves. ... :D
I got there. It just took me a while. lol Better late then never, eh? :p

Sorry, but MOO, the idea that he was ID’d through family tree DNA is misinformation. That kind of tracking takes a significantly long time for research. The test on DNA retrieved from trash is more akin to a paternity test (paternity DNA profiling). MOO

If you had a delivery you hadn't ordered, wouldn't you say something when it arrived?
OR you'd be happy to get free food, maybe assuming it was delivered to wrong address?

Now, talking about curls of hair haha
It reminded me of 2 animal hairs in his flat.
Are they Murphy's???

It was listed that LE found "prescriptions". I wonder if Kohberger had stopped taking any medication he was being prescribed? Idk how it works in the US but here in UK, if you have a prescription then you have to give it to the pharmacist to get the medication and they keep the prescription. If he stopped taking medication then anger, obsessive compulsions, insomnia etc could've come back with a venganace.
Good point. IIRC the judge asked BK when he was in court the first time after being arrested (paraphrasing here) if he understood the charges, and he said yes, and then asked if he was taking any medication for any medical issues, I think, that could affect his ability to understand the charges, and he said no. So in his mind at the time of the arrest, anyway, he was mentally and physically fit, based on what he told the judge. JMO

I don't think we've had any further update on that have we? I guess Murphy is a floofy dog and Murphy hair would get everywhere inside the girls' house so if BK did what is alleged then he would have left there covered in blood (which gets quite sticky quite quickly) and therefore dust and detritus. He would have more than likely picked up a lot of dog hair even if he didn't interact with dog in any way.

Assuming he jumped straight into his car, his car would have been in a terrible mess afterwards too. Do people think that's what he did? Get straight into his car, what is the evidence of what he did immediately afterwards do we know?

If the question was would any medication affect his ability to understand charges, then the answer could be 'no' but doesn't mean he's not on any medication IYSWIM

I have seen his height listed between 5'8" and 6'2" from various sources. Since I'm not going to post 6 different sources for 5'8" - 6'2" (minus 6' source which is below), I'll post what is supposed to be info from his WDL.

I tried to find a mugshot of him next to the wall ruler (or whatever you call it) but wasn't able to with a cursory search. Would love to see one if anyone has one tucked away in their 'glove'. *chuckle*

It came back to Kohberger, whose Washington drivers license shows him to be six feet tall and 185 pounds. His license photo shows him to have bushy eyebrows.

Snipped for focus.

Murphy is a doodle and doodles are known for not shedding much (the poodle in them). Sure, they shed, but not like some other breeds (or my cat! Sheesh! If BK had entered my house he'd have never been able to get rid of 100% of the cat hair that clung to him, even if he gave himself the thorough cleaning like he did his car!).

Most Goldendoodles are low-shedding dogs, but it's a myth that they are zero-shed dogs.

It's also my own personal experience as my parents have had doodles (2-3 at all times since the 1980s).

BBM" Yes, the dad's dna was collected on 27th December and the result showing the 99.999 % or whatever probability that it is BK's dna on the sheath came back on 28th. However, it's interesting when you read the Washington Search Warrant and Application for Search Warrant. The PCA Affiant specifically requests the Judge to find for probable cause regardless of the sheath dna test result and the Judge agrees whilst noting that this does not mean the dna result is exculpatory. In a "Supplemental Disclosure re DNA test" the Affiant asks this of the judge because they want to be assured that probable cause is found to exist sans sheath dna test result in case at some future point that particular dna test/sample is determined to be inadmissable as evidence.

For Judge's ruling re Probable Cause sans sheath dna in WA Search Warrant see P6 of below doc (p1 of Washington Search Warrant).
For Affiant's" Supplemental Disclosure re DNA Test" in Application for Search Warrant" see pp14-15 of the below doc( pp5-6 of Application for WA Search Warrant).

Good luck with that. :) since I know exactly zero people that call a card holder a "glove" or even a wallet a "glove", I have to stay with some kind of hand glove unless "glove" is really some other word. Now if they'd written "sleeve" I might have been persuaded. :D

As long as it isn't Murphy wearing the glove, differing opinions should be manageable. IMO.

It’s sad that the media exploited someone that vulnerable in order to try and discredit/damage someone’s profession integrity.

Let’s hope Banfield remembers this, the next time she forgets her journalistic integrity.
Could be. OTOH, AT's office handling these matters involving the 3 parents still could be viewed as a COI. The judge has ruled. That doesn't mean it won't potentially try to be used by BK or get traction on appeal, should there be one. I wouldn't assume it's settled until rights of appeal are exhausted. BK was happy to keep AT on board for that very reason IMO.

Also, CN-K, XK's mother, is an adult, albeit a vulnerable person in certain contexts, and allowed to choose whether to talk to Banfield. She has agency to agree to speak to any media IMO. I don't think it was exploitive even though it made me sad.

I respect your POV but see it differently.
