This is the first time I've followed a true crime this much. Even with this one, after the initial announcements, I didn't think much about it. I jumped back in with the surprise announcement of BK's arrest. I don't know why it interests me, but for some reason, I want it to be someone else--someone who didn't
sort of randomly kill four people he didn't even know. Someone whose family is known to be abnormal
I'm suppose that on a psychological level, I prefer there to be a connection between the murder and the victims because it makes me feel safer. Because, If I don't associate with people who are shady or involve myself in shady activities I'm good. But if people who are just minding their business can be brutally murdered by a stranger, well so can I. It's a nonsensical way to look at things, but there it is (and they say admitting it is the first step!).
However, I won't lose any sleep if BK is proven to be guilty. I'm also curious about the oddities of the case (based on officially released info:
- Why wasn't the 911 call made sooner?
- Why were the Chapin's cars kept so long?
- If BK is the killer, how did he know the back door would be so easily accessible, etc?
Snipped:
That's a lot of warrants. I wonder if some of them are for the victim's information. Would LE search the victim's digital lives to determine if there was another person or persons with an interest in hurting one or more of them or once they zeroed in on BK did they limit themselves to searching for a connection to BK and the reverse?
