I have also been doing an additional post in the "rants and rave" section of the board calling attention to the link I put up on the community board...

That info about the study of the oxygen in the teeth is fascinating! I went and read up on it...here are a few links for anyone who's interested:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-babydoe_webnov29,0,6995280.story?coll=chi_tab01_layout

The guy who is working on these studies:
http://www.science.mcmaster.ca/geo/faculty/emeriti/schwarcz/index.html
http://www.science.mcmaster.ca/geo/faculty/emeriti/schwarcz/research/index.html

Looks like it is called trace element geochemistry. "Schwarcz said bones collect oxygen isotopes that act as geographic markers throughout a person's life." I have to read up on this more - can this be done on a living person too?

I really want to find out more about this, esp. if it can be done on a living person. Should we contact Professor Schwarcz?

I started on Ohio for CL postings...Maybe we should consider some major met areas like NYC? I would be happy to post there as well if you think that it is an ok idea.

Good work believe! I think we should post in as many states as possible on CL. You are working hard!

Yes, Gina I would like to find out more info on the oxygen/ bones etc being able to tell us where somebody lived. I really want to tell the investigators on the Sc Jock & Jane Doe about it.....I could really help in their case too, just to be able to narrow down an area, and come up with a good VERIFIED starting point to concentrate on. And by getting his face out there in that area....

Oh I almostr forgot, I was working on another case and I was looking at a message board sort of Like a Craigs List and it looks very similar to WS fourms, but it has a thread for People search..

Alot of people looking for family and friends, that have just up and left, most dont seem to be people that have been reported as missing

Here is a link for ya

I hope it is OK-I posted in the city data forum for BK under Colorado and Indiana....it is WAY easier than CL, let me tell you!!! LOL...I stole Gina's post and used it....

No problem at all. Post about BK in any place possible! The more the better :)

ETA: Craigslist is a pain in the behind to post to, lol!

Since I posted BK on the City Data forum, it has been viewed over 70 times which is encouraging. One of the suggestions I received was to take a look at the SS Deceased records between August 2004 and August 2005 to see if he was perhaps declared "dead" by someone. It is an interesting idea-I am happy to do it, if anyone knows how to get me started!!

Hi, lovely people-just a quick update on the traffic on the City Data forum-although the mods cut out all links to other forums (boo hoo) I have been receiving questions and suggestions, so clearly there is a new set of people on the hunt for BK's identity! So far most of the suggestions we have covered, but it is encouraging...

Hi believe09 - That's a great idea to check the SS death records, but I don't know if Aug 04 - Aug 05 is a big enough timeframe. To be "officially" declared dead "they" (the ME, coroner, judge, etc.) either needs to physically have the body or the individual needs to be missing and assumed dead - usually for 7 years.
