I tend to agree with you. Even if there was bad blood between DV and JDT, DV is still her granddaughter's mom. I think JDT has had no experience with the media or LE (in a professional context) where she understands what seems "appropriate" to say or not. I'm sure LE has told her not to share anything with the public like they do in most cases, and she's just not sure what to say. They also may not be sharing any information with her since she's not DV's next of kin or relative. She may know no more than we do, but she still wants to try to answer when people ask her questions. She seems to have said the same thing over and over IMO with the exception of a few things she said early in the case that may have been proven incorrect. I don't really get the bad feeling about her some people do.

Most of what JDT knows has been info she's acquired the same way all of us have - sleuthing. LE has told her nothing. She has received a little bit of info from one of the people that was with DV the night she went missing, but the story changes each time this person has talked to her and it's been conflicting info. So she's back to figuring things out via sleuthing.

Situation with the information on this case is upsetting and in my mind the overall situation with information is taking away from what is important which is finding DV. I went back today and read the thread from the beginning and there is alot of excellent information here that many many different people have contributed since this thread was created. It bothers me that many of the early posters that understood Mobile and had knowledge of the situation seem to have melted away. I find this upsetting and I wish they were still following along here.

In my mind the only reason I have continued to follow the thread was because of DV and her daughter. I didn't follow the thread because of the family or lack thereof as I believe, at least to me, that they are a distraction from finding DV. I don't think I can spend any time thinking about the family so I will put them off to the side for now.

What upsets me was the earlier post today about how DVT is selectively sharing information. In my experience in problem solving the fastest way to achieve poor or zero results is selective sharing in a group project. I don't sense the family is willing or able to change their view about how best to work effectively with people. I feel quite sorry for them but I cannot personally give them any more time or energy as it interferes with what is the goal here which is finding DV.

Its a sad situation but it is what it is and its good that the situation was understood sooner rather than later IMO.

They have a group of people that they are working with. I and a few others are following this post. We can't share certain things in part because, like with any case, some things have to be kept close to the vest. We all have theories of what happened but it's just that, theories. JDT wants to release confirmed information but is willing to answer questions as best she can.

No one is really sure. It's believed she does have custody, but nothing really to back that up but word of mouth.

JDT has confirmed that she has legal custody of DV's daughter per DV's request.

Yes, they just held a car wash last weekend to raise money to help fund individual research efforts or at least that's how I understood it. I saw that the event raised between $2-3k on one post. However, there's not been a single update on where the case stands, whether they're still pursuing leads, nothing. The LE did the one PC, offered the reward for more information, and then never said anything to encourage or remind anyone that it was available. In fact, not long after the was a shooting in which they also offered a reward for info on and the news repeatedly played the video of the shooter. People probably don't even remember there's a reward out there.

When leads come in, they are pursued, but leads are not coming in.

Wow. The scenario in that article would make sense here. Danniella suddenly had money for a car, was met by multiple cars at the gas station, and the video was pulled down by LE. I’ve always felt LE knows what’s going on. Jmo

Personally, I think one of the people in one of those cars (which, in all actuality, there were only 2 cars - this was confirmed by JDT tonight and posted as part of a timeline in one of the FB groups) was involved. That person arrived ahead of DV, left to go find DV's phone (DV may have been with this person when they left; I don't know) and returned then this person and DV both left

Has the car been recovered? I am looking online, and a 2014 Chevy Cruze in my area goes for roughly $10,000. That would be a *significant* amount of cash to come up with, IMO. Makes my mind wander another route that make me pause, but that’s just me.

I haven't stopped talking because TT was mentioned. I don't know much about TT other than he's now in rehab and was incarcerated when DV went missing. I don't know date of release/date of admittance to rehab.

WS is definitely about helping and staying away from drama. There are strick rules that the mods work hard to make sure everyone abides by. Is there anything you can tell us that will help us with our tweeting and emailing? Anyone you think we can correspond with to push for assistance. I have been tweeting the gov, mayor, police department, media outlets. I have also emailed the Mayor. Still looking for the chiefs email and twitter handle. I have not received any responses but people are definilty looking at my tweets. I can see the activity. Anything you can provide will help us. Rehab records are probably going to be confidential per HIPAA. I will check into arrest records.

Is there anything you can tell us that will help us with our tweeting and emailing? Anyone you think we can correspond with to push for assistance. I have been tweeting the gov, mayor, police department, media outlets. I have also emailed the Mayor. Still looking for the chiefs email and twitter handle. I have not received any responses but people are definilty looking at my tweets. I can see the activity. Anything you can provide will help us. My guess as to why those outlets aren't working is that the person that JDT thinks is responsible is from "old money" and has connections to both LE and politics and we think is being protected.

Ok. If the car has not been found, than that is the key here, IMO. My gut feeling when I first read about this case was that she somehow drove into the water. I still feel like thorough searches of the water in that area could be most helpful here.

I didn't want to respond without asking JDT first; however, in our Admin chat, I did ask her to clarify this and she told me that LE has not told her anyone is cleared; that they are all suspects.

Also I have been in Banking a long time and although I have been out of the branch network for some time I still have to keep up with compliance rules and regulations. Any purchase of $10k would need to be reported! Not only at the time of purchase but when the dealer made the deposit. Unless of course the dealer is very shady!

I am not 100% sure but I think someone suggested this in the early part of their thread, protecting someone. I would have to go back and look. I am not local. We did have a local here, which I also forget swill have to look. They were able to let us know that DV driving into water would probably not be possible. Does anyone remember who that was?

I agree with you. I would likely be proceeding with caution, as well. We don’t know what LE has told her to say or not to say. We saw with the Lucas case that there are crime “groupies” out there who insert themselves into cases for whatever reasons. I’m not saying that’s what happened here, just that I can understand a feeling of caution with regard to sharing in the fb groups, especially with the child to protect.

Unfortunately, with any case, there are always the groupies that insert themselves in places they shouldn't. It makes it challenging for those of us who genuinely want to help

I think it’s probably a good idea for you to apply for verified insider status here at WS. The rules here require links to LE or mainstream media sources for information shared, unless you have been verified as someone connected to the case. It’s simple and involves emailing with the admin here just so they can make sure you are who you say you are. You can, of course, maintain your anonymity on the public boards.

I watched a Mobile local news segment about a little boy handing out fliers but the whole segment was about how sweet the little boy is! No information or news on DV. It was weird.

That segment with the young boy was surreal.

I still can't wrap my head around the various people that were with DV on the party train the night she went missing not coming forward and giving their personal testimony as to the events of the evening. I don't know the actual number of people involved but it was at least 4-5 people including the car that showed up at the Shell Station. How do these people just walk away? JDT said the person that supposedly recovered the phone at Dublin Pub was interviewed and gave a statement to the police. But what about the other people there that night - did they give statements to the police? Do the police even know who all was at the Shell Station? I would think that given the amount of time that has passed that the details of the individuals would be known by Mobile PD, but unfortunately we don't have any updated information on situation? Where is the press on this case?
