GUILTY AL - Violet Rice, 13 months, died from abuse/neglect, Robertsdale, 24 May 2018

Here's an article I just received. Looks like they upped Jordan's charges to capital murder!

Baldwin County grand jury indicts woman, man in abuse of 13-month-old child

The mother who was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse of her 13-month-old daughter has been indicted by a Baldwin County grand jury, according to District Attorney Robert Wilters.

Jordan Rice, 29, has officially been charged with capital murder and aggravated child abuse resulting in the death of her daughter, Violet Rice.

The grand jury also subsequently charged the father, Robert Rice with manslaughter and aggravated child abuse. A warrant was issued for Robert’s arrest on May 17 with bond set at $100,000 on each charge.

But of course, no future court dates.... I've looked thru 6/1 and neither is on the court schedule yet. I'll keep an eye out though! :)

Alabama father’s arrest in child’s death is ‘outrageous,’ lawyer says

Bail on both charges has been set at $100,000 individually and Stankoski said he will seek to have bail reduced and his client freed.

“Robert was discharged honorably from the Marines – Sgt. E-5 rank and he immediately reenlisted in the U.S. Air Force,” he said. “He’s a veteran who has served our country I’d like to get him out jail so he can get back to work to provide medical insurance for his wife and kids.”

Arraignment is scheduled for July 25 where a ‘not guilty’ plea will be entered, according to Stankoski.

“We would hope the district attorney’s office did not bring these charges against him to pit a husband against his wife,” he said. “When I look at these charges, this is overreach at the first order.”

Dad jailed in starving death of 13-month-old girl seeks return to military job

Robert Rice, 30, has been charged with aggravated child abuse and manslaughter in the death of his 13-month-old child, Violet Rice. Rice's lawyer says he is a victim of prosecutorial overreach.

A father whose 13-month-old daughter was found starved to death in a Robertsdale trailer more than a year ago has had his bond reduced by a Baldwin County court and is requesting to return to his military job in Florida.

Robert Rice, whose wife is facing capital murder charges in the death of their daughter Violet Rice, filed a motion Monday to Circuit Court Judge Scott P. Taylor requesting that if he does make his reduced $50,000 bond he also be allowed to return to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where he serves in the Air Force Reserves and is also an Air Force contractor, according to court documents.
[.....]
His $200,000 bond was reduced at the end of June, according to court documents. His attorney said the amount was excessive in the filed motion.
[......]
The newest motion also asked that he not be forced to wear an ankle monitor should he return to his job in Florida.
[.....]
Robert’s motion to allow him to leave Alabama and return to Florida has not yet been decided.

I have 7/25 as arraignment hearing for Robert.

who is going to do that for me? I won't be taking my laptop with me - so I'm going to need some help from one of you that are following this case.

Here's the link I use to look up both Robert & Jordan Rice. I've looked thru 9/19. And just put "Rice" in the place where it says Last Name. You don't have to sign in to look.
