Circumstances of Disappearance
Yu Chin Chang Goodson was a resident of a group home that specialized in treating patients with mental disabilities. On the afternoon of March 25, 2005, a patient at the group home informed the staff that Goodson had left the facility about 15 minutes earlier. The property owners contacted the police and began searching for her. Officers interviewed a witness who claimed to have seen a woman who matched Goodson's description getting into a car that was headed toward Decatur, Alabama. The car was a small grey or sliver older model car, like a Mazda or Nissan. The vehicle was described as having a loud muffler. Goodson require daily medication, and did not have any with her when she disappeared. She is known to pray a lot, as well as having numerous crying episodes. Goodson loves children. She has ties to the Florence, Alabama area. Her son lives in Decatur, Alabama, and she may attempt to contact him. She may appear intoxicated or disoriented, and may be staying in missions or homeless shelters. Her bank account has not been accessed since she was reported missing.

Distinguishing Characteristics: Asian female. Graying black hair, brown eyes.
Clothing/Jewelry Description: A pink or blue pullover shirt and blue jeans.
Medical Conditions: Goodson suffers from diabetes, hypertension, and paranoid schizophrenia. Although she is not insulin-dependent, she must take daily medication for all of those conditions and she does not have her medicine with her. As a result of her conditions, Goodson may appear to be disoriented or intoxicated. She had been under psychiatric care for sixteen years prior to going missing and she is classified as mentally and physically disabled.

Goodson was last seen where she lived in a halfway house for mentally disabled adults in the 100 block of Nortin Avenue in #Russellville, Alabama at the time of her disappearance. She was last seen leaving the facility on March 25, 2005. She got into a small gray or silver older model car, possibly a Nissan or Mazda, with a loud muffler. The car headed east on Highway 24 towards #Decatur, Alabama. Goodson has never been heard from again.
Authorities believe Goodson may be trying to reach her son, who lives in Decatur. She used to live in #Florence, Alabama, and had lived in the halfway house for only a few months prior to her disappearance. She did not take any identification with her and has not accessed her bank accounts since her disappearance. Goodson may be staying in homeless shelters. Her case remains unsolved.

Her NamUS page states there is no DNA. I wonder if they could get the son's DNA and load it into GEDmatch or see if it would match to any missing person's remains.
