All Casey Cell Phone LOGS and PINGS Part#3

Working w/ TexasLil and doing data quality checks now.

If someone can email me the 7/2-7/7 pdf I can finish. I'm @ bondjamesbond@ec rr com (just add "." before & after the "rr").

Bond,

I just emailed you the link to download this pdf.

Testing how well PB quality works...

TBE = Time Between Events
Threshold = 4 hrs (can vary) shows periods of inactivity >4hrs for example
Results table incl. date&time and starting & ending ping location

Still quality testing data (thanks Muzikman!) and need to finish some review w/ TexasLil (all built on her hard work), but, here's an excerpt from a table...abbreviated for test...

TBEThresholdExampleExerpt4hrs1.jpg

...again...excerpt only and just finishing data quality testing this PM. Objective is to have a tool that can provide insight into windows of opportunity for disposal. Also enables a means to analyze sleep patterns.

The full cell/ping spreadsheet is set-up to filter fields such as "Call To" and "Call From", etc. to allow viewing "conversation" (text & call...fb/ms later) patterns between individuals (e.g. Casey and Cindy/Anthony home is interesting).

This will be an excellent tool for analysis! Good work!

One thing I think to take into consideration is that incoming texts do not necessarily mean that Casey is with her phone. Incoming calls with cell tower pings (those without go to voicemail, IMO), outgoing texts and outgoing voice calls all mean she is physically using the phone. Incoming texts can come in with her not being physically present.

Very good point Eliza!

...yeh...

a family member retrieving evidence unescorted
only the phone retrieved from Tony's ..no laptop, etc.
family left to rummage through retrieved evidence unmonitored
Pontiac left in control of family for almost 2 days (IIRC)

...still...LE was dealing with a missing persons case...I don't wanna bash'em...they're really workin' their arses off, and I appreciate all they're doing.

OK...back to pings, and, longs, and lats....OH MY!

but didn't they (LE) get a signed statement from Cindy saying they could search her laptop? Maybe if they had taken it that night, it and what it contained could be thrown out in court? Also, did LE even know that was her laptop? Just thinking out loud here!

The one thing I learned from the cell phone ping experts was that your cell phone will continually ping whether you are using it or not and even if it is turned off. The ONLY way to insure NO PINGS is to disconnect the battery from the phone. That info was pretty shocking to me.

Apparently so. I found one more phone log that I was missing dated 6/1 through 6/11 I believe on docstoc. I tried to download and my internet explorer crashed. Does any one have a better download link for this particular cell log? I think it might be good if we add prior to June 15th into our analysis.

Since LE confirmed the nursing home visit on the 15th we've all just been concentrating on days after that. Hopefully we can get the other pings.

Uploading the PDF's now, I'll email you a link when done - actually 2 links, 6/1 - 6/11 is 50 pages!

I think it would be a great idea to have her previous history to show her patterns.

Ooooh. I'm excited and can't wait to see these!

(I just want you guys to know that I could never tell anyone else that ping information from June 1rst -11th is exciting. They just wouldn't understand.)

Right.

My point being that you can't track Casey's physical location by the ping locations of incoming texts because she might not necessarily be with the phone at that very moment.

Outgoing texts, outcoming phone calls? Yes. She physically has to be with the phone to make those calls. Incoming phone calls that don't go to voicemail, too.

I just noticed "a white back pack with a print pattern or symbol on it", wasn't that the one for Caylee ?????????????

That is the same thought I had when I read it :)

Ping Map for June 30, 2008 is posted on the other thread..........

Do we know the dates and times that the phone was NOT pinging or when it is believed to have been turned off? Comments come up occasionally about this but I haven't been able to attach them to specific dates/times!???

I may need some help to convert these. I signed up for a 7 day free trial on an OCR conversion and, unfortunately, it's expired. I think Bionic had a converter as well as he/she did a few days of the original conversion..

Does anyone else have a pdf to Excel or text conversion tool?

All we have is activity-associated ping information. The idea behind the TBE analysis is to put a stake in the ground for periods where there was no activity-associated ping info at all...and per ElizaA's observation - with which I'm in violent agreement :) - for some activities (e.g. incoming texts that went unanswered, incoming calls that went to vmail) this isn't a perfect analysis - just a rough one. On the bright side...Casey was a voracious cell user, so she left one helluva trail.

I will also post on the Myspace, etc. thread. If anyone has a clean Excel ss of Casey's myspace & facebook entries with their associated date/timestamps and to/from info I could use those too (already have rough versions, but, would save me bunch-o-work if someone already has these handy.) TIA!

...all of the above to be incorporated in a detailed activity/inacivity vs. text/fb/ms message content vs. date/time vs. ping loc...analysis

bumping...no responses on this yet. The date & timestamps of Casey-originated ms & fb messages will also help narrow down on the time she would've been available to focus on disposal. IF anyone has these in Excel I'd be most interested in getting them. I have some of the fb's, but, not ms.

TIA!

OK...cross-eyed now...

Spreadsheet back to TexasLil for review. Don't wanna unleash this beast without looking for obvious errors first. Also know we have to correct some long/lat errors from the OCR conversion.

The input on the outgoing-only analysis couldn't have been timed better, ElizaAvalon :applause:. Spreadsheet now has one tab for all call/texts and one tab for outgoing-only call/texts. Both are set-up for easy filtering and a variable 'threshold' field to allow changing (e.g. greater than 1hr inactivity, or, greater than 4hr inactivity, etc.)

Soooo...after correcting the OCR errors on long/lats we'll figure out the best way to upload & share.

I was playing around with the spread sheet and was goi8ng to break out the times that left 10 min. or more.... then I saw the post about the incoming and was like shoot.... that won't help. I can still do it day by day to see when there 'could' be a possible time for a body to have been dumped but I am not sure what good it will do. It really opens up a lot of windows of time that may not really be true.

Just as a side. I had my son do a little experiment for me. Healthy, ex-military just a few years older than Casey. 10 min. to dig a shallow grave for a 3' x 1-1/2' deep grave and fill it back in. That was in good old regualr dirt.

That did not count carring a body. I didn't have a 3 year old handy to give him. LOL

Hey - Shadow...just a quick post & I'm gone.

1) If you can stand to wait a day, don't sweat the spreadsheet stuff. After TexasLil & I finish long/lat OCR conversion errors you'll be able to filter & play to your heart's content.

2) O/T, but, I posted a new thread a few weeks ago, in signficant detail, about digging a grave recently for a family pet.....just happened to be 'bout what Casey would've needed to do. It was merged w/ "Rants" thread. Details here... http://websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2780930&postcount=445
