SEARCY, Ark. - According to a Facebook post made by the Riverview School District, human remains were found on the high school campus.

The Facebook post states that the Searcy Police Department and White Co. Sheriff's Office responded to a report of adult human remains in the woods behind the administration building on the high school campus.

A student discovered the remains and reported it to police.

The remains have not yet been identified.

School officials stated:

"A huge thanks for the quick response from the Searcy Detectives, White County Coroner, and Officer Kyle Williams for handling the situation quickly and professionally."

The remains are being sent to the state crime lab.
The Searcy Police Department is currently working leads on a missing person case from out of state.

It sounds like they might know who it is. Maybe there was identification with the body?
“Searcy police are looking into a lead on a missing person from out of state but didn't disclose the who the missing person was”

Human remains found by student on grounds of Arkansas high school ID'd as man missing since 1999

The Searcy Police Department said investigators confirmed the remains found Tuesday afternoon in a wooded part of Riverview High School's campus are those of Larry Don Madden.

Madden, who was 26 when he was reported missing in 1999, was "working and staying with a friend" in the Searcy area when he disappeared, police said in a statement, noting the investigation is ongoing.

Details of Disappearance
Madden last contact his family from Searcy, Arkansas at approximately 9:30 p.m. on April 13, 1999. He told his relatives that he would be traveling to Bastrop, Louisiana. Madden never arrived in Bastrop and has never been heard from again. Louisiana police are investigating his disappearance.
