How likely is it a woman could be held captive? I think about zero. Very small island and everyone knows everhyone else's business. GG did not know anyone on the island and the Arubans are not into human trafficing, it would be very bad for business considering Aruba's main income is tourism. jmo
People are held captive and undetected in many surprising places. While the most commonly known ones are women forced into prostitution and end up even street-walking in the open without being "found", some are minors and some are male. Websleuth's forums are full of people kidnapped who are never found, yet the ones that ARE found absolutely prove to us how easily a person can be held captive almost in the open.
Just one example of many is Shawn Hornsby, who was held captive for years by a man who managed a pizza restaurant in the St. Louis area. His captor saw people just about every day and Shawn was held in an apartment complex with people all around him. People knew he was there, they just didn't know he was THE kidnapped Shawn Hornsby, even though there wasn't even any attempt to change his appearance.
Many years ago I worked with endangered and abused girls. Their lives changed my knowledge of the world. One girl was in the sixth grade when she was abducted from a neighborhood convenience store/ gas station by an over-the-road truck driver. Her girlfriend escaped before he got her into the truck and she screamed for help immediately. Yet this girl was not found and after she had been missing for six months, her parents were being 'counseled' as to her likely demise. Then they got the miraculous call that she had been found, running down the median of an interstate naked in the middle of the night! Drugged heavily and passed from truck to truck in the night for six months, kept naked and nearly unconscious during the days so as to keep her hidden, the truck she was in had slowed for a wreck ahead and she had kicked the door open and rolled out onto the highway, got up and ran screaming naked into the traffic moving in the opposite direction. Luckily, it was an HONEST person who picked her up and called 911. It very well COULD have been another sicko trucker, ending with her bones and teeth being found years later, as happens way too often. There were MANY truckers complicit with this ONE girl. I have no doubt there have been many many many such girls over the years. And yes, I knew her, worked closely with her and her mother for a year after she was recovered .
The point of this true story is that there are MANY truckers out there who had this girl and I bet NO ONE that knew these men in their personal lives would ever believe they were capable of such. The world is full of naive innocent folks who have yet to discover just how seriously sick some people are and this makes them, unfortunately, gullible.
These monsters WALK AMONG US disguised as human beings, helping neighbors carry groceries, taking children to ballgames, being elders of their churches, managing restaurants, practicing medicine, selling fertilizer, and even working in law enforcement. Examples of all of these are right here at Websleuths.
I understand Aruba is a small island of close community. However, there are any number of places a person could be held without detection, right under the nose of innocent UNSUSPECTING folks. Shawn Hornsby was surrounded for years by UNSUSPECTING folk. It only took ONE suspicious person to save his life!!! The same can be said of Dylan's sister Shasta. Just ONE, willing to look at things differently and DO SOMETHING about it. God love them for that.
Don't EVER believe a person could not easily be held captive, given unfathomable evil.
That said, I still believe it is more likely GG is the guilty one here. I just wonder if he's been double crossed and outsmarted, being that her body, and thereby his ticket to money and freedom, has not washed ashore.
