Man accused of murdering Sydney man Morgan Huxley just taken the stand

#kelsall says about the events surrounding Huxley's death "I have never been able to put it entirely out of my mind"

Court packed at #kelsall. Standing room only just about. Breaking for morning tea before crown continues cross examination

#kelsall trial back and the accused murderer says "my fear shouldn't mean someone has to die"

#Kelsall says of alleged murder victim Huxley "I could tell he was good looking ... I did not find him overly attractive".

#Kelsall says "no" when crown prosecutor asks him "is giving evidence a game to you?"

Crown says to Kelsall that his father has told the murder trial how the 22-year-old likes chess "a game of strategy". #Kelsall

#kelsall says he just "imagined" or "thought" about taking a knife home from work but never did.

#Kelsall says he has a habit of striking up conversations with strangers, asking them how their day was. Huxley and he had a longer talk

#Kelsall claims he had hoped to either make a "new acquaintance or engage in sexual activity" after Huxley invited him inside

#Kelsall said he checked his shoulder bag in the hours after Huxley's murder after hearing there had been a killing. Saw "red stains" on it

#Kelsall says by the time he spoke to police in the weeks after Huxley's murder he had told lies to friends and family about his whereabouts

#Kelsall asked by Crown Prosecutor McGrath SC if he sought to remove any evidence connected with him and what happened to Huxley, "yes"

#Kelsall says he sought to "push everything away" from himself after that night because he was "scared"

#Kelsall "I never made up a set of lies before the (police) interview. It was a lie I came up with during the interview."

Crown asks Kelsall "you stabbed this man 20-odd times when he was lying on his bed didn't you?". "No," he replies. #Kelsall

And Kelsall steps down and gets back into the dock. Crown set to begin summing up tomorrow. #Kelsall

Sorry let me clarify that crown and defence to do closing subs in the morning before judge summing up #Kelsall

#Kelsall says he always thinks about whether Mr Huxley might still be alive if he had have tried to stop the attacker or call police.

Daniel Jack #Kelsall had denied crown's suggestion he stalked Morgan Huxley, followed him into his unlocked flat, and stabbed him.

Final crown question to #Kelsall: "Have you unburdened yourself, Mr Kelsall?" It was objected to, and unanswered.

And the evidence in the #Kelsall trial is done. Closing addresses start in the morning, ahead of jury deliberations.

Mr Kelsall said he fondled MH for about 10 minutes before something hit him on the head and he noticed someone else in the room.

"I pushed my self up and it looked like this other person and MH were fighting I then got out of there - I stood up and ran out"

Funny that he was SO scared and intent on running out that he managed to stop and steal a phone and some money in his way.

He told he jury he saw the person, whom he hasn’t described physically, and Mr Huxley “seemed to be fighting.”

“I pushed myself up and got out of there,” he said,

“I didn’t know he was being terribly hurt. I thought it was somebody he knew or his flatmate, that he’d done something annoying.”

Mr Kelsall said he didn’t tell police because “I was very, very scared of having anything to do with the murder.”

And Jean Redmond didn't hear any if this. Yet she heard two knocks on the door.

His pants are on fire.

“Was the police interview (carried out in September 2013) a game to you?” Crown Prosecutor Peter McGrath SC asked.

“No,” Kelsall replied.

“Is giving evidence a game to you?”

“No.”

"No"

Kelsall, who followed his family to Sydney from Wellington in late 2010, hasn’t described if the attacker was a man or a woman and said “I’d been hit on the head, my vision was blurry.”

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/ne...-takes-the-stand/story-fni0cx12-1227264460642

Yet he said during an interview that he saw a woman going into the apartment as he was leaving.

I'll see if I can find that link.

This smacks of Jodi arias' ninjas. What a liar. And how - if DJK got a hit on the head and ran away before the attacker got to Morgan - did he get blood on his glasses???

Well that was a disaster, I wonder how long the jury will take to convict .. 30 minutes?

#kelsall says he checked bag after hearing reports that Morgan Huxley had been stabbed @NewsTalk2UE

Prosecutor McGrath makes the point that 'the reports said nothing about him being stabbed' - #kelsall stammers @NewsTalk2UE

Just one but a rather significant slip up from DK.

Gee the defence put a lot of effort in. Not. Why would the mystery assailant attack Morgan with Kelsall in the room?

Clearly the thing to do in this situation would have been to admit guilt and throw yourself on the mercy of the court?

Here is the link. I really hope that all of the massive inconsistencies in his stories are made clear in court.

http://www.9news.com.au/national/2013/10/13/08/35/huxleys-alleged-killer-contacted-police

The man who allegedly stabbed Morgan Huxley to death in his Sydney unit voluntarily contacted police to claim he had consensual sexual activity with him that night and saw a "young lady" walk into his unit, sources claim.

BBM

During cross-examination, Crown prosecutor Peter McGrath, SC, asked him repeatedly about his lies to the police, and the precise timing of his movements.

Mr Kelsall looked directly at the barrister, and occasionally tried to correct the detail of his questions.

Crown starts closing subs in Daniel #Kelsall trial with quote "what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive." #9newscomau

Crown going through #Kelsall's version "on this night of all nights...someone happens to burst in to Mr Huxley's bedroom." #9newscomau

Crown asks who had this bad luck? "Chillingly he just happens to be someone who had...persistent thoughts about killing someone" #9newscomau

After bratty court watchers tsk-ed and laughed at evidence today, refused to get up for family members, I am declaring a state of emergency. (BBM: This makes me angry!)

Crown says the thoughts of killing someone which #Kelsall told doctors about 16 months earlier...were a "prophecy." #9newscomau

Crown says #Kelsall's medical consultations 16 months before Morgan Huxley murder are chilling and compelling evidence.

#kelsall says something then hit him on the head "it really hurt". "I kind of looked up and there was another person in the room".

How do you "kind of" look up? This is a deceptive language red flag.
