Judgment Just In:
The Supreme Court has sentenced Mr Edwards to imprisonment for 24 years, with a non-parole period of 18 years, for the murder of his wife, Ms Sharon Margaret Edwards, on the night of Saturday 14-15 March 2015 in Grafton. Mr Edwards was found guilty of her murder following a five week jury trial held in Coffs Harbour in November 2019. Mr Edwards was the last person to see Ms Edwards alive. Her body has never been found. The murder was motivated by Mr Edwards’ anger towards his wife regarding her decision to end their marriage and to commence a new relationship with an old flame, Mr Mills. After he killed her, Mr Edwards sought to give the impression that he was ignorant of the circumstances of her death, and told many lies to his family, friends, police, and the public about what happened the night she disappeared. He will be eligible for release on parole on 19 June 2035.

Eligible for parole in June 2035. And I guess he won't get parole if he doesn't disclose Sharon's location - due to the NSW no-body-no-parole conditions.

Does anyone think that now he realises the length of the sentence, he might come clean on where she is, hoping to get the sentence reduced on appeal.

I am glad it was a much longer sentence than 9 years.

Let him sit in prison for a few years, maybe then he will decide that allowing his kids to bury their mother might be a good idea. If he gets no prison visitors, and has no chance of parole, maybe that will sway his decision ... eventually.
