did he murder her when they got home that night to Oulnina Park?. settles the kids down, then kills her, then buries her somewhere on the property?

or does he murder her on the journey and prop her up in the front passenger seat until he can think of what to do, where to put the body.... does he veer off the bitumen and into the desert.....?? anywhere after Roseworthy.... 300 klms nothing....

does he murder her in Adelaide, after the Museum excursion, puts her body in the boot, waits until dark and hurls her off the Glenelg pier?

Most three year olds have words. But I wonder if the kids were fast asleep, in the back seat, after they're big day out. And perhaps its happened once they were home, after the children were settled into bed.

Police can obviously place Burdon back home from midnight. And I think they can account for Tanja up till Roseworthy 7pm. But from Roseworthy to Mannahill is roughly a 4hr trip - but 7pm to midnight is 5hrs.

I still get the sense that something happened in Adelaide because of the late time departure. Leaving after 7pm with 2 little ones to travel 360 klms! For some reason I also feel he disposed of her body at the family property... sentiment or familiarity? I previously posted about gold mines and caves in the area and I feel that is where her body is.

It isn't impossible that he went straight past Oulnina Park and buried her on the road to Broken Hill, then doubled back....

I thought about sentiment when Des Bray stated there had been recent movement of earth near the creek, near the house, on the property. I thought, of course, Tanja is there because he's wanted her to be near him. He's had some psychotic episode and placed her near him and the boys. But, hey, I felt like a fool when she wasn't found there and thought, how cruel, he could of just left a little note or something, to let Tanja's loved ones know.

I keep thinking of the 2 energy drinks and 2 milk drinks allegedly purchased at Roseworthy. It appears Tanja was into healthy living, I gleaned that from when they visited Broken Hill and she ordered vegan food at her fave cafe. So would Tanja have an energy drink or did Michael need 2 for the long trip back home?

I think the whole point of him offing himself was to keep that terrible power he had, that he , and only he knew where her body was.. not her sons, not her parents, not her brother, not her friends, no one, no one no one ever,
......because I think he murdered her in a horrible way.. that's his secret to keep, too......

I think on that sighting, also.... the tinted windows.. no one saw Tanja, or the children.. . but he strolled in, and purchased the drinks.... It isn't improbable that he was playing to the crowd... he knew that was the last CCTV, ..... like he was acting out in his own peculiar drama.. director, producer and lead actor..

I think you're right Trooper. I was thinking about that this afternoon, that what he did to her was horrendous. I think he wanted to keep the horrific details his secret. He was perceived to be a nice guy in his small town.

I was thinking along your lines, Symbah ... a sweet guy, caught up in a nightmare.....right up until he shot himself, and it dawned on me that he had that gun loaded, cocked, and hidden ready for when the police arrived....it wasn't a spur of the moment decision......and I don't think her murder was a spontaneous reaction to some pressure... it was planned....

Yep, and he therefore controls her to the end.

Also, re the three year old son....if he was awake and witnessed something, I'd not be at all surprised if his dad then ordered him to keep it a secret and not tell anyone. Happens all the time in DV situations. And if the son did witness something horrible, his dad would have threatened him to keep quiet. Who knows what state that poor little boy is in? I'm hoping he was asleep, but that seems too neat to me.

But, in saying all that.....traumatised children do disclose, despite the fear and threats. I used to work in child protection and if they feel safe enough with someone, children often do tell, even if only through their play or drawings to start with.

Poor Tanja, it is horrifying to think that MB probably planned the whole thing. He must have realized that he could not smooth talk/sweet talk Tanja any more, or that he was tired of sweet talking her. Keeping up the charming act must have started becoming too much of a strain. I am convinced that he had a gambling problem, and I don't know what other problems he was trying to hide but it was becoming too much of a strain hiding things. I think everyone is right that he planned everything. (Tanja probably found some things she wasn't supposed to find).
Mr-nice-guy had sinister plans afoot for his wife. I hope they find her body, unfortunately the reason he would not divulge the location of her remains is probably because of the manner of her death.
What a dysfunctional family, oldest son kills himself, younger son tries to maintain normality, attempts marriage and family life etc - but cannot keep his demons down. Poor Tanja.

What will be interesting to me, is , when did he ring his Mother to ask her to come up to Oulnina Park to mind the kids?..... ...

I am working on the assumption that he did that almost straight away (( when she was dead, but not telling mum that ) because I am assuming Mum lives in Port Lincoln and that is around 630 klms from the station.. ... perhaps he rang mum from around Roseworthy... or somewhere on the road home...............

A good driver, in top condition, would do that drive in about 7 hours , driving to the elements, car fuelled, clothes packed for an open ended stay...driving all the way up the Eyre Peninsular to Port Augusta, than across east on the Barrier highway... . these are not freeways,, merely highways, ....

and he has to have mum there quickly, he cant do any jobs around the place with a small baby, and a 3 yr old... .. you cant strap them to a trail bike and tear off piste.......

So at some stage , his public story, perhaps his Mum being the first try out, has to be quite quickly solidified into a working yarn.... it has to have mum leaving her place, hauling herself 640 klms, changing her arrangements, it has to be believable and logical..... He has to have the capacity to maintain the story, to his mum, ,, to the kids, to the station hands............

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-08-31/mannahill-search-seeks-murder-victim-tanja-ebert-body/8861362

'Major Crime detectives, STAR Group and Tactical Response Group officers, assisted by mining experts have spent the past two days checking historical mines and wells at the Mannahill sheep station.

Specialised cameras have been lowered into shafts to try to detect anything unusual.

Police said locals had also suggested some other sites of interest worth checking, but searchers had turned up nothing.'
