I think they should have put a time limit on the reward.

It may not be prudent to withdraw a reward after a certain period of time. Withdrawing immunity from prosecution and witness protection may be a better idea.

Did GAPA have female members? Putting aside all any of the other accusations.
Who were members of GAPA being non male? Is it another potential connection apart from the Wellington fridge and scrappy mob?

Yes, from memory the next President of GAPA (after PB) was a woman, ie; Ann Battishall and Merilyn O'Neill was 'president of the [GAPA?] breakaway group':

I don't have a copy of the member's list but, no doubt, there would have been other female GAPA members. It certainly is another valid avenue to explore regarding possible connections to William's FGM.

FGM didn't have grandchildren in her care so that seems unlikely, imo.

What if (one or both of) the FP are the 2 kid's bio grandparents? Perhaps FGM is actually Great FGM?

That seems unlikely but even so, Grandparents As Parents Again, aka GAPA

Unfortunately for KT the children have spent most of their lives with the FF so would consider them their parents. LT would want to go with them.

  • #228
If the FF are moving overseas they must feel William is not coming back. I would not think they would leave the country if there was a possibility that William would be found.
Also, if they were really suspects they would not be allowed to leave.

Yes I agree. Another possibility could be an ongoing fear for LT's safety if she remains in Australia? IMO

This might be really out there but it could be saying to somebody " give him back or we will take LT away but if we get William back you will still be able to see both of them"
IMO

Surely a foster child can't go overseas, without mum's permission.

I think it is the guardian that needs to give permission, and that would be the State of NSW - in this case.
Then I would think the state would consider if the child is a 'permanent' placement or a 'temporary' placement before making their decision.
From all I have read about fostering since this case started, it does not seem that the state is going to hold up the progress and opportunities for the child, especially if the bio-parents have had a lot of time to get their act together enough to properly care for the child, and have not accomplished that.

For all we know, William could be a 'permanent' ward of the state. There is a difference.

... inform your caseworker if you intend to travel or move interstate or overseas

If the foster carer is travelling interstate or overseas it is necessary to gain permission from the child or young person’s guardian in order for them to go.

What sort of car did FD have? Would an abductor turn up in a similar car?

One thing that may have some bearing on which way William ran is some comments his mother made.
She said that she called out and said do you see daddy? is daddy home? And she heard nothing in reply.

From that I think it is possible that they had already had a little convo about ‘daddy should be home soon’. So it may have been at the forefront of William's mind at the time.

If they are thinking about going overseas I would guess she has permanency. Bio mum has the right to feel upset about it and I believe that keeping in contact is encouraged by she won't be able to prevent it and neither would the state.

There is this ... but it is in the 60 Minutes interview.

On Sunday, William's parents revealed he could have made his way down the sloping backyard because he was excited about his dad coming home from work and wanted to welcome him home.
"I called out, 'Can you see daddy's car?' " said his mother. "Then there was no answer."
Within 20 minutes his mother had called police.

it's entirely possible that Williams sister is now officially adopted .

Sorry, I was implying female relationships (people knowing people) through GAPA ????
Female GAPA members aka grandmas knowing male members that could be associated with this crime?

Also to add FGP had funeral, house for sale, they knew Williams last visit was coming.
There was adoption processes in place?????

I dont think so. It appears there is still some expectation that she will be returned to her bio mother.
