William Tyrrell's foster mother told the court she heard what sounded like a child who had been hurt, saying “it was quick, it was high pitched and it was sharp”.

If he hit his head and knocked himself out, he wouldn't hear her. It's one of the things that goes through your mind when your child is missing.

I would think of broken limbs being a male child. Anyhow

Lydene tells the court she told a police officer she would make a call out on social media for help in searching, to which she says the officer laughed and said “go for it”. Dozens of locals soon converged on Benaroon Drive. @10Daily @10NewsFirst

Real cavalier police attitude! So unprofessional it is gut wrenching. I do wish this officer is called as a witness.

Her message said “please call back and let me know if the washing machine part has arrived” the court heard.

The court was told Spedding called back and left a message for her mother later that day, hours after William went missing, saying he had the part and could attend later that day.

As a mother with a child not answering my calling out to them a natural thought like that would occur to me aswell.
Exactly. Just another option as to why the child wasn't answering. A typical maternal reaction & thought.

Mmmm yes - the represented by lawyer PS

There is nothing that should be read into that at this stage. He is a male therefore under the circumstances may just have considered he would do best with a legal rep.
