Very different to your image. The drive was done after William was taken
It seems to have been freshly gravelled. I think it was also gravel when WT was taken, but with fallen leaves and grass growing through, as if it wasn't often used.

BBM, I think I've read that when the dogs give a positive result that means the person was there, and is quite reliable, but when they don't find a scent that's not an indication either way as to whether the person was there or not.
From what i have read there are different types of dogs used for varying scenarios. There are Air Scent dogs, Trailing dogs, Tracking dogs, Disaster dogs, Cadaver Dogs, Water search dogs, Blood detection dogs & Avalanche dogs.
Not sure what type of dog was used in WT's case though?

No it was grass when William was taken. It was cemented/graveled by the owners that purchased in 2014 prior to selling again in 2016.

Of the pics I have attached, you can see an aerial pic during the search, if that driveway was concreted/graveled at that time it would have shown in the aerial pic. The pic you show is clearly grass compared to the other.

The top driveway going to the carport and house is concrete.
The bottom driveway was a cream coloured gravel. As I said, there was grass and leaves on top as it wasn't often used. Gravel roads will grow grass when they aren't driven on.

If you look at the Google maps 2010 shot you can see the gravel clearly near the kerb. It is the same gravel on PS driveway. If you look at the end of Benaroon Drive where the road goes off into the forest, you can see the same gravel there also. There is grass growing on that track as well. If you look on Six Maps you can see that the bush track seems to have been graded (not so much grass).

If the Crabbs heard a car on gravel, it could have just as easily have come out from the bush track.

The FGM Post Box was not on the Gravel Driveway..... it was on the other driveway..

BBM1: Do you mean because there were potential witnesses along Benaroon Drive? That would be the shorter route.

BBM2: Millers weren't in their own backyard, unless they're lying about being away at the time.
Yes and also would differ from the theory that William was taken out of the street by car. I’ve often wondered if the scream that was heard was in fact lil William and not the sound of a bird which fm thought may have been the case as when she attempted to look in that area of the bush where the sound came from was unable to see any blue ( being the Spider-Man suit). Potential witnesses possibly as I’m not sure whether the trail goes past the backyards of the other neighbours specifically the Crabbs

Can you guys just remind me please where we heard about the car on the gravel ?? I know it was recent I just cant remember the source???

I have just read Caroline Overton's Book "Finding William Tyrrell"and there is an entirely different version of the hearing the Postie that day by he Crabbs

This is a small except from the conversation with the Crabbs and Senior Constable Rowley
From Pg 53 and Pg 54 of the E Book by C. Overington

"He thought he heard the car stop and do a U Turn , or maybe turn in a circle before heading off again.
It didn't stop at Paul Savages, it stopped at number 48 he said. I don't know how long, as long as it takes to put a letter in her box . It stopped and then kept going.
Mrs Crabb also remembers hearing this car...…...

And I thought this could be the postie as it wasn't going slow, it was going reasonably fast, like the Postie does."

Excerpts from Books on other Cases are posted within different threads across WS and are within TOS I have also written to CO to ensure I can share small excerpts..

Or maybe drive up the lower (gravel) driveway at No 48?

I can’t open the link because it’s paywalled but this MSM article mentions that the Crabbs heard the sound of a car on a gravel driveway and that Savage had one:
