Prosecutors won’t move forward with criminal case against Jesse Wilson’s adoptive mom
The Buckeye Police Department said it's disappointed with the move.

BUCKEYE, AZ (AZFamily) — The case against an adoptive mom accused of concealing or abandoning 10-year-old Jesse Wilson’s body isn’t moving ahead.
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said on Tuesday it plans to dismiss the case against Crystal Wilson without prejudice, citing lack of evidence.
The move leaves the door open to refile charges.
“If new evidence is discovered and brought by law enforcement in the future, the office is open to reexamining the case,” the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said in an emailed statement.

Police long suspected Crystal Wilson was involved in Jesse’s death. Jesse’s blood was found inside Crystal Wilson’s car, but because his remains were so deteriorated, no cause of death was determined.

Full statement from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office:
“The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has filed a motion to dismiss without prejudice the case against Crystal Wilson. Wilson was facing one count of unlawful transport of a dead body. At this time, there was insufficient evidence to move forward with the trial against the defendant. If new evidence is discovered and brought by law enforcement in the future, the office is open to reexamining the case.”
