When I first read about her things being stuffed in the back of her closet, I instantly had a bad feeling that it would end this sad way.

I am still on the fence about who did this though. I am suspicious of her bf, but her 2 roomies give me the creeps even more. And then, slight chance, but still possible, she turned to a new guy for help and he betrayed her? IDK

The EU thing has prevented me from seeing any of the videos with the roommate and her bf.

I see a few possible flags in some of JC's comments.

My guess is since it took 2 days to ID her through dental records that she was out there awhile. Glad she was finally found. I cannot wait until the person who did this to her gets the justice he deserves.

Also, one of the earlier articles had also mentioned the body was decomposing, so I imagine if she hadn't been there the whole time, that she had at least been there for some time (though the AZ heat would definitely expedite things as well)

I’ve been following this case because I live in the neighborhood next to the apartment complex. I’m so sad for her family and hope they find justice for Kiera.

I am very suspicious of JC. Even more so since her body was discovered off the 85. This highway is the route one would take if traveling to or from San Diego. It is a remote area and lesser traveled. People don’t use this road unless you’re going to Gila Bend or SD. There are far more remote areas much closer to my house, specifically north of here, maybe a 20 minute drive. So it doesn’t make logistical sense for someone to go all the way to the 85, unless that someone is not familiar with the area, but familiar with that drive.

yes, that bike is odd.

Someone linked a picture of a lime green bike, like the kind they rent out for locals to use. But was that a 'mountain bike?' It looked more like a cruiser, IIRC.

This article described it as a mountain bike.

The body appeared to be in the bushes between SR 85 and a wash, at the end of Old U.S. 80.

Details about the victim's name, gender, age and cause of death were not immediately available.

While detectives combed through evidence, a couple in a truck were escorted into the crime scene area by deputies. They brought a lime green mountain bike and took it behind the mobile command unit. After a few minutes, they brought the bike back to their truck and left. Right now, it's not clear if the couple is related to the person whose body was found.” (BBM)

I noticed that in the accompanying video, she reports from the scene that a man was escorted into the crime scene area.

Perhaps he is the “passerby,” who discovered the body (possibly while mountain-biking) and if so, maybe he accidentally left his bike behind, and LE was helping him retrieve it. Also, if a couple, perhaps the bike belonged one of them, and the other was accompanying him/her for support.

I also found an article that was published ten hours ago (I don’t believe this one has been posted yet):

“Police told ABC15 a passerby spotted Kiera’s remains and called the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

They would not say if the person who located her body was driving or walking, but detectives did not find the body as a result of a confession.

Right now, police say they do not have a suspect in custody for her murder.”

The article also features comments from a couple of Kiera’s co-workers:

“Nearly one month to the day, Kiera Bergman’s friends and co-workers got the news they had been dreading.

‘You could hear sobbing, it was a very depressing environment,’ said Bianca Aceves, who worked with Kiera.

‘I felt like I got hit by a plane or something,’ said Shilee Kyle, a co-worker, and friend.

Kyle immediately thought of a recent photo shoot she did with Kiera, who wanted to start modeling with her best friend Destiny.

‘It kind of just makes me sad because now I know that she can’t have that feeling [of joy] again. She can’t feel anything again,’ Kyle said.”

Right now, I’m just really angry at the person(s) who did this to precious Kiera.

Police: Body found near SR 85 is that of young Phoenix woman missing for a month

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office was initially handling the investigation, but the case has been handed over to the Phoenix Police Department.

Other than identifying the victim as Bergman, police have not released any details, saying only that this “is an active homicide investigation.” At this point, it's not clear how -- or when -- Bergman died. It's also not clear how long her body had been in that desert area near SR 85.

I was hoping that somehow this would have a good outcome. Somehow.

What a wonderful and greatly loved young woman Kiera was. She should still be here.

Heartbroken only begins to describe how I feel.

Forensics are back at Kiera's apartment. Boyfriend is not considered a suspect at this time.

Ariz. Woman, 19, Found Dead Nearly 1 Month After Vanishing — and Police Suspect Foul Play

The sex of the victim was not immediately clear to investigators, but medical examiners were able to identify the remains as Bergman’s.
While an official cause of death is still pending, detectives continue to investigate Kiera’s death as a homicide. The release states that suicide has also been ruled out as a possibility, and authorities have previously said they suspect foul play, according to the Arizona Republic.

Chris Bragg told the Republic his wife was notified Wednesday about Kiera’s murder.

“She pretty much couldn’t talk” when she called him, Bragg said. “She just told me to come home.”

Bragg added: “This is absolutely not the way we ever imagined, we really hoped that we would have found her alive somewhere, but it does definitely give us some peace of mind.”
