GUILTY AZ - Maribel Gonzales, 13, murdered, Tucson, 3 June 2014 *Arrest*

Thank goodness. Guilty. Between the 35 year sentence from Maricopa County, the TBD sentence for Maribel and I'm sure a guilty verdict for Isabel I doubt he will EVER be out on the streets again. As it should be.

And here's an article I got this morning.

Sept. 30, 2022

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - One of Tucson’s most notorious criminal cases came to an end in a Pima County courtroom on Friday, Sept. 30.

A jury found Christopher Clements guilty of first-degree murder and kidnapping in connection with the death of Maribel Gonzales in 2014. He faces life in prison when he is sentenced at a later date.

The defense said they plan to appeal Friday’s decision. “We feel that there are many strong upheld issues for the court of appeals and quite possibly the Arizona Supreme Court to consider,” Attorney Eric Kessler said.

@PayrollNerd - when you have time - can you see if there is a sentencing date in the court site. TIA!

I have his next court date for Isabel's case on 10/21/22.

I think Isa will be a tougher case because of the time it took to find her. I also think the way the media, the cops, and a lot of people on this very site hurt the case by dragging the Celis family through the dirt, often in extremely racist ways, will have a lasting effect. Sadly, I think the defense will do it again and some of it might have an impact on the jury.
