It’s not quite the right forested area, but this makes me think of Danielle Lopez who went missing in the pine barrens just north of here in Burlington County.

Me, too! I thought the same exact thing.

This is a very strange for a body to be found in a refrigerator in a forest. I wonder if foul play was involved.

Unless they were re-enacting "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull", I can't see how there wouldn't be.

Seems like a good place to dump a body. Say they were killed elsewhere (obviously) then put into the refrigerator as cover, then dumped. No one would think twice. I see people hauling refrigerators all the time.

True, until someone sees a refrigerator in the middle of the woods and says, "WTH..."

Wondering if it could be John H Dayton IV missing from Woodbine since Jan 2022.

On the day of his disappearance, he went to pick up his paycheck at Smokey's Meat Market on the 400th block of Washington Ave where he worked as a butcher. He reportedly did not come home after picking up his paycheck.

(Just kind of caused me alarm because what if the fridge was from the meat market? Possibly an old one that was replaced)

Body Found in Refrigerator in New Jersey State Park, Investigation Ongoing

Lebron did not disclose how they learned of the body, the exact location of the discover, or the identity and gender of the deceased. The investigation is ongoing.

I am assuming the exact location in the park is somewhere accessible by a truck or other vehicle capable of hauling a fridge with a body in it. I'm trying to figure out why in a fridge in the forest. Was that simply easier for the perpetrator to haul a dead body discretely without being seen hauling a dead body? Did they simply unload the fridge into the forest and drive off, therefore not risking being seen manhandling a dead body?

very odd case.

I think you nailed it there.

His Charley Project Page.

Dayton was last seen in Woodbine, New Jersey on January 25, 2022. That day he picked up his paycheck at Smokey's Meat Market in the 400th block of Washington Avenue; he worked there as a butcher and lived across the street in a boarding house. He never returned home after getting his paycheck, but may have been sighted on Franklin Street sometime between January 31 and February 2.

Dayton normally called his family weekly, but they stopped hearing from him after January. He has never been heard from again. Few details are available in his cas

People might assume it had been dumped to avoid the cost/bother of disposing of it correctly.

People do dump appliances and furnishings to avoid transfer fees. It is perfectly likely that the refrigerator could have been dumped by one person, and the body by another.

Is it possible that the refrigerator was there for some unknown length of time....??

Our minds here on WS do have to think of things outside the box sometimes....
If someone knew the fridge was in the woods..... and later committed a murder and needed to dispose of a body.

As I type, I am sure I am off base..... but it is not impossible.

IMO the victim was in the refrigerator when it was dumped. The perp was in a hurry to get rid of them and couldn't stomach anything else. Because by leaving the victim in a refrigerator, they actually may have helped preserve evidence and guaranteed the victim would eventually be found. Whereas if they had just placed the victim in the forest or into water somewhere exposed, maybe neither of those things (evidence/being discovered) would be true.

My heart goes out to anyone missing a loved-one who is waiting to find out more information.

I agree that is possible, but I think it more likely the fridge and body dump happened by the same individual at the same time. Who knows, I could be way off.

I think it would be highly unlikely that someone looking to dump a body just happened to come across a conveniently abandoned refrigerator in the woods.
