I can't for the life of me think of an animal that has a hand, all I can think of is a hand of bananas.

The reason that infant and animal bones are often confused is because in the human infant, the bones of the hand are not yet fused. Please pardon this next part, or skip it if you are sensitive: As they decompose, they fall into a pile of tiny puzzle pieces, making it difficult to distinguish them from the bones of animals.
As to the second set of remains, I believe there were actually three sets total, because the set that was determined to be animal was said to be found the morning after the second set, about seven hours apart, although that may have been faulty reporting. I have been monitoring NAMUS to see if anything is entered there but still nothing. I am hopeful that Lisa will get justice for whatever happened so if that means her remains have to be found for that to happen, then that is what I will hope for. It would be better if the person or persons involved would confess though, just so that the world doesn't have to go through that.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Law enforcement authorities were investigating a report of possible human bones that were found near the Isle of the Capri Casino Thursday morning.

According to Kansas City, Mo., police, the Jackson County Medical Examiner has ruled that the bones were not human.

Sources close to the investigation said a skull, a rib, a hand and part of a vertebrae were found. However, earlier in the day, a source close to the investigation told FOX 4′s Rob Collins that they believe the bones were too small to be human

See? This one says they were found Thurday morning near Isle of Capri, but the ones KMBC reported were found Wednesday 9/18 on the bank of Riverfront park. Although the two locations are attached, they are two locations, and two separate dates.

It has been well over a month now actually over a month and a half and I have not seen any more in the news about the bones found by the railroad tracks. I know someone who asked LE and never got a response. Of course that is just my word. jmo

    Rather confusing reporting!

On a side note, while at a local park I found bones and toddler-sized underwear that were torn and dirty nearby. Some of the bones were slightly spread. I didn't find any large bones (like a hip or skull). I called the police. I was told there were no missing children in the area, and the officer said they were "probably animal bones". His explanation of the underwear was plausible (child may have had an accident and an animal may have pulled it from the trash can), but I thought it should have been taken. Nothing was taken. I don't know the difference between animal bones and human bones, but I hope that officer does. Same thing goes for this case.
