I always skim the DM in the morning. This morning sadly, I read before having had any coffee. That was a mistake I won't make again.

Life is stranger than fiction.

I remember the Irish case of the same nature.
Also uncle and nephews :(

Oh, the case is mentioned in this link.
That is what greed does to people, unfortunately.

RIP to the victim.

Brazilian woman arrested after taking corpse to sign bank loan: ‘She knew he was dead’

When Érika de Souza Vieira wheeled her lethargic-looking uncle into a Brazilian bank, clerks quickly sensed something was amiss.

“I don’t think he’s well. He doesn’t look well at all,” remarked one distrustful employee as Vieira tried to get her elderly relative to sign off on a 17,000 reais ($3,250) loan.

More info coming out...

"A woman who took her
dead 'uncle' to a bank in for
a 'loan scam'
was seen transporting the body in a taxi and even getting the unwitting cabbie to help her put him into a wheelchair -

potentially revealing a crucial detail that could see her jailed."
