"He was Bombed in the USA!

Bruce Springsteen was arrested for DWI and reckless driving in his home state, it was revealed Wednesday — days after he appeared in a much-hyped Super Bowl commercial for Jeep.

The “Born to Run” icon, 71, was busted Nov. 14 at Gateway National Recreation Area in Sandy Hook, New Jersey, a spokesperson for the National Park Service said.

Springsteen was charged with DWI, reckless driving and consuming alcohol in a closed area, the spokesperson said.

“Springsteen was cooperative throughout the process,” the spokesperson added.

According to TMZ, which first reported the arrest, the allegedly juiced Bruce has a court date in the coming weeks and has no known prior busts for DWI." (snipped)

"News of the bust broke just days after Springsteen appeared in and narrated a Super Bowl spot for Jeep, in which he implored Americans to move toward the political “middle” in the spirit of unity amid recent bitter division."

DoSomething.org Facts:

On average, a drunk driver will drive 80 times under the influence before their first arrest.

Every 51 minutes in America, someone is killed in a drunk driving crash. That equates to 27 people every day.

He was arrested last November - was Jeep unaware when they ran the ad?

JMHO...Lots of money invested in hiring him, building the advertisement, and then buying advertising time from the networks. They probably figured they had so much money in the ad/Bruce Springsteen, that it was better to take the chance on it, rather than pull it. Obviously, it was kept quiet by the press until after the Super Bowl ad was shown.

Jeep must be breathing a sigh of relief—all significant charges were dropped since there was no way to substantiate the ludicrous DWI charges Bruce Springsteen was facing:

I’m not copying/pasting the relevant parts of the article b/c I think it’s more than the 10% allowed in the TOS.

According to this article, BS was stopped by some of his fans, who requested that he take photos with him, and then the fans offered BS some tequila. The arresting officer reportedly observed BS drink some tequila and then start his motorcycle. BS was then stopped by the officer and the officer started the DUI/DWI investigation.

IMO, it’s interesting that no one has come forward to say they were there, or no photos taken with BS have been made public, or no one else was detained/arrested. If this group of people was observed by the officer to be consuming alcohol, why was no one else detained/arrested? It’s also interesting that this happened this past November, yet it isn’t made public until mid-February, IMO.
